Univ. S Car has over 40,000 students and Clemson has 20,000. Of the 445K 2008 voters, 45K were under 30. You've got 60K at just those 2 univ. It seems logical to have a massive rally at both schools right before it's time to vote. Students would show up in massive numbers to hear him speak and it would empower them to go vote. I guarantee such a rally would add a ton of votes.

I'm fairly certain the campaign already knows about the existence of Clemson and USC. My guess is that they're working on expanding the narrative of Dr. Paul's base beyond youth.

Hopefully if he announces more events this week, one of those will be on his schedule.

The last 24-48 hours it makes sense to visit a huge college campus in a voting bloc your generating 50% returns on. That could easily add a couple thousand votes.

Yea, i agree, there are ton of votes to snatch up there, and getting a large portion of those could make the difference for a 2nd or 3rd place finish. Campaign definitely needs to stop at least at 1 one of the 2.

Yes, I agree. And remember, there is no party registration, so as long as they are registered to vote, they can vote!

This, seriously, someone, let the campaign know about it
just remind them , college kids love ron paul
it will be a huge huge huge difference
we need to make sure they know it even if they end up deciding not to do anything about it

My cousin goes to clemson and this week I convinced him to not only vote, but to vote for Paul. I also have a friend at University of SC who is a democrat but I'm working on persauding him to vote for Paul. There are definitely a lot of students who would vote for him.

Awesome! I hope the campaign will do something this week.

I hope the campaign makes inroads with evangelicals and active duty military. THESE are the demographics we have to crack to have any chance at the nomination. I'm fairly certain the campaign understands this.

The campaign should definitely do rallies at Clemson and SC!

Those are huge venues, and school will likely be in session, unlike Iowa and NH primaries!

SC is an open primary, so its worth it to try to convert Inds and Dems (students are these...).

He absolutely should. Huntsman has, and I BET Huntsman didn't mention that he, Huntsman would have signed NDAA.

I went to USC - I know quite a few fellow Gamecocks who support Ron Paul....like to think I had something to do with a couple of 'em. ;)

Yes.

In addition, we should have many bodies on the ground at those 2 schools, on the day of the primary, going into the dorms and dragging the students to the polls.

Here's the problem, though. The kids who voted in 2008 aren't at school anymore. No same day registration.

Correct that. Freshmen in the Fall of 2008 will now be Seniors in 2012.
