Lowballing much?

Ron Paul's campaign confirmed Friday the Republican presidential candidate will launch another online fundraising marathon, or "money bomb," this weekend.

As Paul gears up for the South Carolina primary in one week, his campaign said it hopes to raise at least $1 million in its fundraising push on Saturday and Sunday.

The goal is on par with previous money bombs, which have each raised roughly a million or more.

Also found this error (is it one?) at the end of the article. Sounds like the national poll.

According to a new CNN/ORC International poll, Paul is statistically tied with former House Speaker Newt Gingrich for second place in South Carolina, while Romney holds a strong lead in first place

Statistically tied = they are within the margin if error of each other.

Time to exceed expectations.

I would hope $1 million is lowballing it. This should get at least $2.5 - $3 million.

I know what it means. I meant it says that it's a SC poll, while no recent CNN SC poll has showed Ron even statistically close for 2nd.

I'm hoping for $3 million.

$1M? If it isn't at least $2M, I'd be really surprised. I'd be disappointed with less than $3M. I'll be donating as much as I can.

I've been disappointed by our money bombs so far this go around. People are being cheap this time.

Giving more than ever with this one, I expect way more than one million.. I wonder why they put such a low figure on this.

Hopefully when it gets to 1 million they increase the goal. I think 1 million is pretty low for this. We should get at least 2.

From what I've noticed Ron supporters are the most generous, they give what they can afford in today's economy. When I see people on these forums donating small amounts it means they really care for the movement instead of buying something for themselves thinking. It's too easy to just say, what's 20 bucks going to do? I know I'm in the right camp! I'm all in!

Moneybombs have been more frequent this election cycle, and started much earlier. No big surprise we haven't had a blockbuster amount for one. Save that for the "Pre-inauguration Moneybomb" when we finance the blimp to fly over the Capitol with the 2007 banners back in place, and the best damn lawn-party that Washington has ever seen!!

Has Ron not raised nearly the exact same amount to date as he did last time? Many small bombs compared to a couple of large ones is distorting how much he is actually bringing in.

I'd say a bit more than that, by 1 pm est on the 11th he had $110,000 raised. So the rest of that day, plus the 12th and 13th had to bring in more than 200k. I'm picturing $1.5-2 million at the lowest raised for this moneybomb.
