Have seen countless videos over the years which are supposed to be OMGZAWESOME and just wind up a bit flat. This video showed up on youtube today and the only link to the originators I can find is the website shown at the end of the video: www.untouchablesunderground.com

Who ever it was put together a campaign level quality video and the only thing bad about this video is that it isn't a real campaign ad. I think we need to seriously consider what it would take from us to change that and have this ad run on T.V., because if this video doesn't floor you and get your mind thinking then you need to have someone see if you have a pulse.

In 2004, I actually waited in a long line for a Sean Hannity book signing! If I ever run for political office, IMO, that's the most embarrassing thing that they'll be able to dig up on me.:p Just thinking about those days makes me feel the need to take a shower.

Fantastic job to whoever did this. It's completely spellbinding. I think for a certain crowd, this will definitely serve as a wake-up call and maybe get some anti-war people to the polls.

The only thing I worry about is that this might cause too much cognitive dissonance for your average joe-sixpack flag waving moron. These people believe the US is a 'force for good' in the world. Telling them they've been supporting murder and death based on lies and propaganda is probably more than they can take psychologically. That's the kind of revelation that has to come to them slowly and on their own terms. Seeing something like this could backfire and make them resent Paul for exposing their error. So I'm not sure it would make a good TV commercial for the average republican.

For your average republican, I'd go with something that doesn't challenge their core beliefs head-on. You have to frame Paul's foreign policy in a way to make it seem like something they already agree with. Simple, salt of the earth stuff. America First. Defend Our Borders. No Nation Building. That kind of thing.

Great ad! We must continue to remind the public of the tactics used only a few years ago to hype the country into an unwarranted war with Iraq. They're doing the same thing again today with Iran. Nobody likes to be duped twice. I wonder if this can be refined and produced into a 60 second ad?

I saw that one yesterday, and it was pretty good, and the Chinese troops in Texas one I hadn't seen until today. I don't think they would convert people on foreign policy, though. People are willing to make the same mistakes over and over again in a better-safe-than-sorry mentality. They don't realize that these invasions and occupations make us less safe, and that's what we need to emphasize. Caution and diplomacy aren't tell-tale signs of a weak country, but of a wise one. Ron Paul would not hesitate to take us to war if it was declared and if there was a real need to do so, but he won't just run in under the assumption that someone somewhere might have a nuke.

As for the Chinese troops ad, I think that would go over Americans' heads. I don't mean to sound condensending to my fellow Americans, but I think the mentality that, "Well, people in the Middle East are just different than us!" runs deep. I tried a similar argument on my grandmother last election cycle, and while she claimed to have more respect for Dr. Paul afterwards, it still didn't change her mind. I loved my grandmother more than anyone, but she always failed to understand Ron Paul's foreign policy, even in unedited youtube clips of his speeches.

We first have to show that a non-interventionist foreign policy is a strong one, not a weak one. Then, we have to show that the world will not cave in on itself without our military presence.
