Okay, I've made a ad, I've used the story posted by another user: agaiziunas.. I think that story is very effective and I think it could really change people's hearts.

Half Page (reduced size): http://img542.imageshack.us/img542/517/ronpaul.png
Half Page (actual size): http://img715.imageshack.us/img715/7573/ronpaula.png

I've asked The State, newspaper in South Carolina for there rates:

"sizing and rates below do not include color charges

Full Page = 9.96" X 21"
M-Th = $13872.66
Fr = $14,276.43
Sa = $14,544.18
Su = $16,257.78

Half Page = 9.96" X 10.5"
M-Th = $6936.33
Fr = $7138.22
Sa = $ 7272.09
Su = $8128.89

Quarter Page = 4.92" x 10.5"
M-Th = $3468.17
Fr = $3569.11
Sa = $3636.05
Su = $4064.44"

According to information I can find this is the largest newspaper in SC, and has circulation around 80K and 110K+ on Sunday. There is only ONE Sunday from now and the primary. Which is the 15th.

I've made a half page ad, so for Sunday it would cost $8K roughly. I thought that would be the most appropriate size for the money.

Anyone up for it?

This is just an idea, here's an ad I made. Use it in any newspaper you want, I'm just tossing out The State as a suggestion.

You may want to say that Ron is statistically tied with Obama nationally.

Also...that is a lot of words in an ad. To be honest don't know if people will read that much. Not the most eye catching. It is a great idea though, but I think everything needs to be more bullet pointed and concise. Something to grab attetion.

Again, could be a good idea, but need a good clean, eye catcher.

Not very catchy. I'd say put up q3 statistics of top 3 donors for Romney, Gingrich, and Paul.

Actually I made it look like an 'article' so people read it. Isn't supposed to be presented as an 'ad'. Rather like 'news' :) Anyways..

The story that you are putting in the ad is great, but it would do better with a rewrite/edit to appeal to South Carolina voters. I mean, starting out by calling yourself a Paulbot just isn't going to endear anyone.

even saying the word Paulbots is to be avoided. Your story, while interesting and a fine testament will likely not win RP any voters and may scare them away. SC voters want to know about a strong national defense, a pro life candidate, saving SS and medicare for seniors. The gun law mentions are great as are the RP vs Obama stats.

Remember, you aren't preaching to the choir here. In a sense you're evangelizing.

Agreed. Needs a rewrite, and a redesign, fonts, formatting, everything. I'm skeptical about the main body, mentioning NDAA, SOPA, PATRIOT, etc... these are long philosophical arguments that takes a while for neocons to be convinced of. I say be more vauge on those, refer to them as "abandoning our bill of rights" or something, make a case for A STRONG NATIONAL DEFENSE, this is a hawk state they like strong. glad you included SS not being cut, VERY important.

the story is fine, but it seems too wordy. remove Paulbots as said before.
maybe focus on main points only - budget cuts, againts TARP and Bailouts, etc.

I just quickly browsed through them. They look fine enough to me.

But I would put Ron Paul's Gun Owners of America grade in there somewhere. I think he received an "A" or "A+" from GOA, the highest of the GOP candidates.

+rep for writing all of that and taking the time to do this. Best of luck.

Should we just leave it to the campaign?

While some of the grassroots efforts have been good, seems like we should concentrate on funding the campaign?

Do both... Yes, both...
