Boycott Colbert.

Lost all respect for him. What kind of state allows someone to enter the race less than 10 days from the election date.

Colbert may not be able to enter the race since the state does not permit write-in votes in primaries for the president and vice president. Chris Whitmire, spokesperson for the South Carolina Election Commission, told CNN that there "won't even be a way for someone to do that because it's not allowed under the law."

He tried it last time as well and was rejected. Don't panic.

He also advertised it while on air,I'd say sue him.

Already tweeted him about boycott.

I'm not too worried. Young people that vote for him aren't too bright to begin with and will never be on our side anyway.

can someone even run for office while they are in charge of a superpac?

Move along folks, nothing here. Had OP READ the whole article, they would have seen he will not be on the ballot and write-ins are not allowed by state law.

no ron paul supporter is going to vote for colbert lol.

And no Colbert supporter is going to vote for Ron Paul.

If this was 4 years ago, and Stephen Colbert was on the ballot, he would have had my vote. I wasn't yet a paulite, but if he wasn't on the ballot, I would have gone RP. I'm not the only one.

He's not on the ballot, no write-ins. He can run all he want, but he can't get any votes.

colbert would not take ONE vote from us. if he got any votes at all, it would assuredly be romney votes

Thanks for getting me worried, he's just doing it as a publicity stunt, he's not on the ballot and they don't allow write ins. Case closed.

Colbert is just trolling. These folks get paid to have people watch their TV shows, remember? :)

Whew...I sure am glad that mod note was added. For a second there, I was worried about a Colbert presidency.

If we boycott, we become the joke of the country. Headline " Ron Paul supporters worried comedian will steal their votes!"

Viacom might have to offer equal time to all other candidates, or cancel/suspend Colbert

Trump could not run because of NBC

I suspect someone at Viacom is pushing this. hope it backfires

why doesn't colbert just build it for a few days .Then endorse Ron Paul! That would be the way to do it! Ask all indys dems and republicans to support Ron Paul. That would be EPIC!!!!

i guess we need to make sure that anybody that actually shows up to vote for him ends up voting for RP.

Why everyone so serious? You can't just jump onto a ballot a week before the primary. It's funny.

He's a progressive though

He's a comedian and entertainer. Many of RP supporters are right in his base of viewers.

Let him do it. He will just take away the idiot vote. Could be a plus for Paul.

Did he just state he was running in SC??

He's counting on the Republicans to go crazy about this. Take the high ground. Let everyone else look bad.

The SuperPac part of the show was pretty entertaining, and certainly made a valid point.

can someone even run for office while they are in charge of a superpac?

He passed ownership over to Jon Stewart.

I'm not bothered at all.
Hell, it might even force more 18 - 29s to tune-in and turn-out.

If he was actually running and on the ballot, he could take away some votes from Paul. There is a lot of crossover between our best demographic and his fans.

Hopefully a lot of people show up and think he is on the ballot (since it is an open primary) and not see his name...but see Dr. Paul's name and vote for him. You can't write in Colbert's name so....maybe they'll cast their vote for someone. I don't see Colbert followers voting for anybody, except Paul.
