That is, honestly, shocking.
and odd.

Very fun fact to throw into the "Ron Paul vs. Obama" electability discussions.

Why didn't these Ron Paul supporters switch parties and vote for him in GOP primary. That's a lot of votes.

they may have had more net impact doing what they did, those votes wouldn't have materially changed RP's finish in NH

It's quite possible they were Dems who didn't know they had to switch their registration, and could only get a Democratic ballot.

Amazing, amazing. How people can say the candidate with the most cross-over appeal is unelectable is beyond me.

We are doing a very poor job of making people aware of the rules for their state.

For anyone interested in their state, you can find info here:

No need for exit polling. We win with dems.

that 's the problem we have everywhere with closed elections. People often don't seriously think about who they should vote for until it is too late to register.

Did the math and included Democrats into the GOP results

Rick Santorum 23,662 9.3% (-.1)
Newt Gingrich 23,686 9.3% (-.1)
Jon Huntsman 43,173 17% (+.1)
Ron Paul 59,121 23.2%(+.3)
Rick Perry 1,780 .7% (--)
Mitt Romney 99,340 39.1%(-.2)

Margin of victory before including Democrats (39.3 - 22.9) = 16.4% Margin

Margin of victory after including Democrats (39.1 - 23.2) = 15.9% Margin
