"GOSHEN — The framers of the American Constitution planned to limit the scope of the federal government and instead gave the states the sovereignty to operate with the powers not specifically reserved for the federal government.

Over the years, federal agencies have assumed control of many national issues and laws have been passed to strengthen federal control across the U.S. as states have delegated some authority, but not surrendered it.

When the federal government over-reaches its authority, it is up to the people to point that out, explained Richard Mack, who has done just that.

Mack, who is an author, speaker and former sheriff of Graham County, Ariz., spoke about the County Sheriff Project, the oath of office that officials take, citizens’ personal freedoms and the importance of the office of sheriff to defend those freedoms.

Mack spoke Wednesday evening to a crowd of nearly 300 people at Beulah Missionary Church, Goshen. He was introduced by Elkhart County Sheriff’ Brad Rogers."

This event really got some good press in the area. The article was on the frontpage on both area papers. In one of them right beside the article, was a small thing about how many people have died in the federal drug war in Mexico...
