Lecture on US involvment in Mid-East

Hey,

I found this (http://forum.wgbh.org/wgbh/forum.php?lecture_id=3547) great lecture on early American involvement in the mid-east.

But I'm confused. I thought Paul said early America had a humble foreign policy. And I thought the constitution and the founders were secularists from the enlightenment.

I would recommend looking at history, and decide what is correct.
