BAM!

Cavuto nailed it. The GOP will miss out big time on the young voters that Obama drew in 2008, if Ron Paul is not the GOP nominee.

(And the most frustrating thing of all is that the GOP doesn't have to sacrifice a single principle of Constitutional government to get this extra support; they just don't see it yet! All the GOP has to do is return to its roots; ditch Neoconservatism or become extinct)

Not crazy amout more independent run talk, and that "near Dean" moment was an unfortunate segment choice for a replay of Ron's NH speech.
But, overall, it was encouraging and I'll take it.

Yeah it was pretty close but it wasn't really picked up on in the media and won't be since they were yelling END THE FED at the time :). Its nice to see Ron feeding off the crowd like that.

Dean tried to pump up his audience.. desperately.
In this case, it Ron's audience pumping up Ron Paul..

If anything, I thought the "we're all Austrians now" line was a lot worse. =P

That was a great piece but I totally disagree with many of us supported Obama in 08 or would in 12.

Not crazy amout more independent run talk

I think Cavuto here directly outlines the potential benefits of such talk. Obviously it cannot be the campaign message, but it does emphasize the risks of the GOP losing Paul. Paul carries influence within the GOP precisely because he is a realistic threat, or even 'dangerous'---in his own words. The GOP is most vulnerable to the threat of losing the numbers and passion that we Paul supporters represent.

It is a campaign asset.

If talk of a 3rd party run is coupled with mention of why this is bad for the GOP, or why Paul could potentially be elected president, then I think that is a great message to hear spread. Cavuto nails it.

So given what we know is there any chance at all that Obama won't get reelected?

We know:
1. The GOP could easily retake the Presidency if they got behind Paul.
2. We know the establishment is not behind Paul.
3. If Paul runs 3rd party its very likely Obama wins reelection; not enough GOP votes to support two candidates even with Indy voters.
4. If Paul is the nominee some quasi-republican (Trump/Palin/Jeb) will run 3rd party. The establishment will distance themselves from it and not condone it, but secretly they will be helping that person run.

So in the end doesn't Obama have like a 98% chance of reelection? I am not trying to be down about it, I just want to solve this puzzle sooner rather than later.

Not exactly unheard of. how old are most of those 70's rockers that are still touring? Dylan is in his 70's.

I swore I would never allow myself to fully trust a member of the professional media again but i'll be damned if Cavuto has not earned my respect and even a lot of trust during this election cycle.

That's just the problem. The modern GOP sold out on constitutionally-limited & fiscally responsible government a LONG time ago. They hate Ron Paul *precisely* because he is a threat to return the party to that tradition - and that would derail their FED- & MIC-fueled gravy-train.
