Criticizing Ron Paul for not passing bills in Congress is like criticizing a nun in a whore house for not turning tricks. He was there to stop the "whoring," not become one.

Ron had a pretty good answer for that when he said it only shows how out of touch Washington has been over the last 30 years.

Reminds me of the Barry Goldwater quote:
"I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them. It is not to inaugurate new programs, but to cancel old ones that do violence to the Constitution ... or have failed their purpose ... or that impose on the people an unwarranted financial burden. I will not attempt to discover whether legislation is 'needed' before I have first determined whether it is constitutionally permissible. And if I should be attacked for neglecting my constituents' 'interests,' I shall reply that I was informed that their main interest is liberty, and in that cause I am doing the very best I can."

Harry Browne used to say, "We don't like words like 'reform,' 'reduce,' or 'legislate.' We like words like "slash, repeal, eliminate..."

This "one bill" talking point isn't even a full and accurate picture of his legislative accomplishments. For example, Ron Paul was instrumental (http://joecobb.com/2008/01/27/competition-in-currency-ron-pauls-nutty-idea/) in -- no, was probably the main driving force behind -- getting the Gold Bullion Coin Act of 1985 passed, though he, for whatever reason, did not end up being the official sponsor. Ron Paul isn't an ego-maniac. He'd rather get the bill passed, by any ethical means possible, even if it means his name is not headlining it. This act is what started the Treasury making all the American Eagle gold coins you see advertised on Fox News nowadays. That's right: half the commercials on Fox News are a direct result of Ron Paul being in Congress (the other half, Viagra, Ron Paul did not play a part in). The truth is right there in plain sight for everyone. They'd just rather lie about it. Or, even if they don't actively want to lie, they're certainly not going to do their own investigative digging, because these people are not journalists. They are teleprompter readers. Drones. Spokespeople for a product -- tyranny -- chosen for their good looks, affability, and stupidity.

Does anyone else have a list of highlights of legislative achievements of Ron Paul? I remember there was a list back in 2007/8.

He should play up all the NO votes he's cast and being a buffer to allowing mass spending bills to pass. A "No" vote is much more powerful than a "Yes" vote if you believe in the federal government not being "progressive". Progressives want to progress the size of the federal government and it's for this reason voting "No" and being nicknamed "Dr. No" qualifies him as the most conservative, small government statesmen in politics today.

Or:

He only offered Constitutional bills. :D:D:D

What does that tell you about Congress?
