Everyone,

I have an idea to help out with Rights Rally 07 on the 15th. I've created a Google map that can show all the events which are planned for this single day. You can get to the map here:

Full URL:
http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&ll=37.0625,-95.677068&spn=41.903538,70.488281&z=4&om=1&msid=104245925869187633553.00043e941d02b4fb4efbe

Just like the graphing sites get people excited by being able to track the success of our efforts, this will help put the event in perspective on a national basis as it grows larger. The map can be embedded in any site wishing to promote the day's events. It can also be sent to the media just prior to the 15th/16th weekend to show them just how big it's going to be as well as tip them off about where to take their cameras.

What I need is for people to help me populate the map with placemarks by sending their event info to rightsrallymapper@gmail.com. As you can see, there's nothing there yet. I will contact the guys running rightsrally2007.com (does anybody know who that is???) to coordinate and perhaps they can embed this map on that site to get things going.

Any other ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated. If you think the idea stinks, I want to know that, too, before I spend half my time adding hundreds (thousands maybe?) of placemarks to a map nobody will care about.
