Santorum only surged in Iowa, I don't know how that's dirty. I agree that the surge was disgusting, but only because media pushed Santorum onto their viewers. A Ron Paul surge is a good one!

Despite that the available polling data is from pre-NH, Ron Paul currently is in a pretty good position in SC - here's why:

Iowa 2012-12-02 average in RCP:
11%

Iowa 2012-12-08 average in RCP:
17,4% (+6,4%)

If we look at South Carolina we see that Ron Paul has 10,7%, quite similar to that of Iowa in early december. With more media attention and Gingy, Frothy and Perry bashing Romney thru a firestorm of negative-ads, we might be able to hike our numbers nationally from 12-13% to 17-18% with the Post-NH surge and thereby push the support in SC to AT LEAST this level. If Gingrich or Santorum recieves the endorsements of the evangelical leaders this weekend in SC, one of them will close in on Romney while independents disappointed on Romneys aggressive capitalism, will jump over to Ron Paul. With an electorate similar to that of Iowa, it might be possibe for Paul to finish third (if not higher) in a crowded top tier with Romney and Frothy(?) at somewhere between 25% and 30%. This will of course need some advertising and grassroots activism, but not in a more extensive way than in IO, NH. But it's not impossible for Paul to compete here as well is what i'm trying to say.
