Is Ron Paul courting Mitt Romney supporters?

As we have all noticed that RP hasn't been very critical of Mittens and has now recently defended him. Could this be a ploy to take votes away from him?

No. They are a tag team right now. Both camps know that they must unite in order to boil it down to the two of them. They are doing a good job so far.

Yes, it benefits both campaigns (Paul and Romney) to winnow the field to two. Romney has more money and doesn't want to waste it attacking non-contenders, and Paul gains immensely from being the last non-Romney candidate as it can't help but to give him more attention.

Whether or not this has longer term implications remains to be seen.
