Looks like another government bailout here in Alamance County North Carolina as the County Commissioners vote 4-1 to risk tax dollars on a company that has a contract with the military to make uniforms. Hats off to Tim Sutton for voting the lonely "no" vote. What's worse is that the previous contractor went bankrupt:

"The company plans to take over a federal contract formerly held by Royal Park Uniforms based in Prospect Hill. Royal Park Uniform filed for bankruptcy in December 2011 and could no longer execute the requirements of the federal contract."

I recently posted on facebook about my opposition a purchase of a large tract of land in SW Alamance county. This passed 5-0 but I would have opposed it due to the affect on real estate on the market. Not only that but this behavior tends to set up more corruption for paybacks and special deals, etc.

The people of Alamance County are with me on this, according to the newspaper. Let's hope we can get more people elected who will be responsible to the tax payer's money.

May 8th is the primary. Three at-large seats open with 2 dems and one republican. Right now there is only 2 of us announced so if we only end up with 1 more (3 total) there will be NO PRIMARY...but that's unlikely. The filing deadline is Feb. 29th so a lot can happen between now and then.

All help is appreciated. http://www.HoppForAlamance.com
