I am from Michigan and use Comcast for my internet. I have never been able to get teaparty07.com to load. Others from Houston are reporting a similar situation.

Are any of you experiencing similar issues? Are there comcast people that ARE able to load the site?

me too.

Any chance that 2 hour movie on the site got it blocked?

I guess I am unfamiliar with the movie on the site you might be talking about, cause I have never had the privilege of being able to access the site... Is this something that we should be taking very seriously? I don't ever have an issue of running into sites that won't load on comcast, so this strikes me as fishy...

count me in.

oh, and Comcast is NOTORIOUS for blocking sites and reporting customers to government agencies.

I think it was only last week where they revealed that they hadn't "blocked" certain sites per se, but they had slowed down the loading speed on certain sites to the point that they were essentially inaccessible.

I can't wait for the day when these corporate monopolies have to pay the piper...

It is almost surely a result of a cached DNS entry in whatever DNS servers you are using.

Somebody with the same DNS servers probably tried to pull up the site before it was live, while the domain was pointing at a different ip address. As soon as the cached entry expires it should work.

If you really want to test this theory: set your dns servers to the openDNS.com servers and try again. Servers: 208.67.222.222, 208.67.220.220

I have have gone to the most politically incorrect sites and conspiratorial sites out there and have never had any trouble with comcast, something else is wrong. I suggest a better server, I suspect that is the problem and if not fixed soon is really bogging things down.

AL - Comcast. JUST flushed DNS twice again. Still no connection using either teaparty07.com or www.teaparty07.com

With some of the recent things(well, recently DISCOVERED) that have happened with Comcast, I wouldn't put them above blocking certain sites.

Just ran a DNS test with the site someone posted earlier, and one of the 2 fails was because of no postmaster address for the site. The other one was this:

WARNING: One or more of your MX records points to a CNAME. CNAMEs are prohibited in MX records, according to RFC974, RFC1034 3.6.2, RFC1912 2.4, and RFC2181 10.3. The problem MX record(s) are:
smtp.secureserver.net.->smtp.where.secureserver.net.->64.202.166.12

Wondering if Comcast just refuses to route here due to the Fails or some of the Warnings.

I use comcast and I have never been able to see the sight.

Also I signed up a few days ago and I never got anything in my email box about it? Is this normal? Usually they send a message asking me to confirm it.

And also, again. Before I remembered my password, a few min ago, I had it sent to me and haven't gotten it yet.

Comcast hires a third party to 'filter' their subscriber connections in what they call efforts to make the internet experience good for everyone (i.e. slow down the bittorrent traffic for grandma to get pics of the kids on aol). I would NOT put it past them to take a site they know to be popular and screw with it enough to prohibit people from getting the the website thinking its down or whatnot.

I just started another thread that asks if people NOT on comcast are having problems.

Anyone ON comcast who has no problems getting to the site?

zOMG! Conspiracy WTF!!!! I'd suspect the problem to be crappy DNS with Comcast. They are a cable TV provider who happens to offer internet access as well.....and it shows in the quality of their internet service offerings. There's no conspiracy. Put down the pitchforks please. :)

Based on some discussion i had in IRC, it just looks like a DNS issue. There is a command you can run from the 'dos prompt' in Windows to help troubleshoot. The command is the following:

nslookup -type=ns teaparty07.com

This command asks the OS to do a DNS lookup to identify the authoritative name servers for the domain 'teaparty07.com'. They should come back in a list like the following:

Non-authoritative answer:
teaparty07.com nameserver = ns43.domaincontrol.com
teaparty07.com nameserver = ns44.domaincontrol.com

ns43.domaincontrol.com internet address = 208.109.78.180
ns44.domaincontrol.com internet address = 208.109.80.75

If you get something else as a response, posting it here might help determine what the problem is.

Good info. I would guess that the DNS server listed has a 'negative cache' entry for teaparty07.com. Can you try this one as well?

nslookup -type=ns com.

Be sure to put the period at the very end. This should return something like the following:

Non-authoritative answer:
com nameserver = a.gtld-servers.net
com nameserver = k.gtld-servers.net
com nameserver = i.gtld-servers.net
com nameserver = f.gtld-servers.net
com nameserver = h.gtld-servers.net
com nameserver = j.gtld-servers.net
com nameserver = m.gtld-servers.net
com nameserver = c.gtld-servers.net
com nameserver = d.gtld-servers.net
com nameserver = g.gtld-servers.net
com nameserver = b.gtld-servers.net
com nameserver = l.gtld-servers.net
com nameserver = e.gtld-servers.net

d.gtld-servers.net internet address = 192.31.80.30
g.gtld-servers.net internet address = 192.42.93.30
h.gtld-servers.net internet address = 192.54.112.30
c.gtld-servers.net internet address = 192.26.92.30
l.gtld-servers.net internet address = 192.41.162.30
k.gtld-servers.net internet address = 192.52.178.30
f.gtld-servers.net internet address = 192.35.51.30
b.gtld-servers.net internet address = 192.33.14.30
b.gtld-servers.net AAAA IPv6 address = 2001:503:231d::2:30
i.gtld-servers.net internet address = 192.43.172.30
a.gtld-servers.net internet address = 192.5.6.30
a.gtld-servers.net AAAA IPv6 address = 2001:503:a83e::2:30
j.gtld-servers.net internet address = 192.48.79.30
e.gtld-servers.net internet address = 192.12.94.30
m.gtld-servers.net internet address = 192.55.83.30

Another thing you can try is to use the opendns servers. You can do that by tacking one of their DNS server IP addresses to the end of the query, like so:

nslookup -type=ns teaparty07.com 208.67.222.222

That should come back with a correct result (still won't work in your browser tho)

Edit: Comcast seems to really suck at running DNS if some of the posts i've seen are any indication
