Screw Huntsman and screw CNN, who do everything to protect him. Good political move by him, and as said in another thread, very "Rovian".

Following Huntsman's remarks Friday, the Paul campaign appeared to agree and called for the ad to be pulled. "The video is disgusting. Whoever put it up should remove it immediately," Paul spokesman Jesse Benton said.

Megayn Kelly is going to have Huntsman campaign rep on her show in a bit to talk about the alleged Ron Paul supporter video. This is ridiculous, youtube should just take down the video, everyone should report it for harrasment or whatever it's obvious this video was put out by the Huntsman campaign to get this exact reaction from the media.

His campaign made an ad about the tweet sent from Ron's twitter account, and tied it into the newsletters by proxy of managerial oversight. Then, Huntsman goes on air after Ron during Piers Morgan's show and acts like he knew it was a friendly jab.

Huntsman is a loser.

I'm 99.5% sure that this is a false flag operation. One of the PACs or a wealthy Paul supporter needs to come forward and publicly offer a $20,000 reward for evidence that identifies the actual video creator. I'm sure he is somehow linked to Huntsman.

Yeah, something stinks here. It's like when a Jack Conway supporter made a YouTube account called "KentuckyFight10" (a play on the 'Kentucky Fight' Rand Paul money bomb) and posted anti-Mongiardo videos, while pretending to be pro-Paul. It's too obvious.

Ignoring that, this is still an idiotic move by the campaign. Do they really want to get into the business of having to publicly denounce everything stupid on the internet that claims to be from a Paul supporter? No other candidate would engage in that nonsense.

Are you high?

John Huntsman would turn around and accuse Ron Paul of, once again, engaging in unfounded conspiracy theories that, once again prove how he is unfit to be POTUS.

And in this case, he would be right!!

Do you remember what happened to Herman Cain when he accused the Perry campaign of planting a story without any evidence to back it up? Because if you don't remember that, you have no business seriously discussing this nomination race.

No, wrong, the stats don't list the first view. Furthermore, view count often lags significantly, especially when a video is first created. Huntsman's site had the first reference to the site. Which, if the creator sent it to them to wave it in their face, it is entirely possible that Huntsman was the first to post publicly about it.

The video could have been made by a misguided Paul supporter, Huntsman's people, or just some random troll.

The video is saying that Huntsman might be a 'Manchurian candidate', which is a book and movie.

It is revealed that the Communists have been using Shaw as a sleeper agent, a guiltless assassin subconsciously activated by seeing the “Queen of Diamonds” playing card while playing solitaire. Provoked by the appearance of the card, he obeys orders which he then forgets. Shaw’s KGB handler is his domineering mother Eleanor, a ruthless power broker working with the Communists to execute a "palace coup d’état" to quietly overthrow the U.S. government, with her husband, McCarthy-esque Senator Johnny Iselin, as a puppet dictator.

It should be on there somewhere, since there was a reference. I don't see it on the blog, but they might have their Twitter feed streaming somewhere on his website.

They have a Twitter feed of their own account, but their own account didn't mention the video.

So the very first view was by the creator himself (my_videos). The very second view was a referral from Jon2012.com, i.e. someone clicked a link on Jon2012.com that linked to the video. That was before any tweet was sent. But there is no such link at Jon2012.com

Possible explanation: The creator finished the video and informed the Huntsman campaign that it was ready. They must have some internal blog that's not visible to the public where they linked to the video within minutes after it was posted (before the first "ron paul" search result found the video on YouTube).

How did they know about the video so quickly? The only reasonable explanation is that they created it themselves and then bragged about it on their internal blog. Could there be another explanation?

I dont think Huntsman made the video or anyone in his campaign.

Unless that Youtube graphic above is a fake, that's damning proof that that video did in fact originate from the Huntsman campaign itself.

The only other plausible scenario with that data is correct is that Huntsman's own campaign site got hacked and pranked. Possible, but unlikely.

I spent a quarter century as a computer programmer and another 15 as a system admin - believe you me, that referral from his website is a smoking gun that this is a Huntsman campaign production.

Your assessment is 100% spot on. What you see in that referral log evidence is entirely consistent with that scenario, and entirely inconsistent with any other scenario other than a malicious hacking incident. Now, if Huntsman wants to go the Anthony Weiner route... well, not a very successful strategy, that.

Jon Huntsman, FYI:

Lynn de Rothschild first caught wind of Jon Hunstman in 2009, when the Obama administration's then-ambassador to China gave a commencement address at the University of Pennsylvania, where both of their children were studying. "I remember thinking he was so bold," she said, a word that few political observers employ to describe the soft-spoken governor. de Rothschild admitted as much, but said that "while he doesn't have a reputation for boldness when he talks on stage during debates, I believe his tax plan is a bold, pro-growth plan."

Earlier this year, de Rothschild co-hosted a major New York fundraiser for Huntsman, whom she had urged to run for president while he was still serving as Obama's ambassador to China.

De Rothschild's vocal support for Huntsman isn't the only way she has jumped into the 2012 presidential race -- she's also on the leadership board of a group called Americans Elect (AE), a moderate, bipartisan nonprofit that aims "to nominate a presidential ticket that answers directly to voters--not the political system."

"The polls show we as a nation are fiscally conservative and socially tolerant," de Rothschild said, "and neither party is offering a candidate on that platform."

^^ ^^

She stressed that she hopes Huntsman will win the Republican nomination, and that if he doesn't, she'll back Mitt Romney. But it is impossible not to at least wonder whether de Rothschild's two current political causes -- Huntsman and AE -- might ever collide, with Huntsman as a third party centrist candidate, perhaps even on an AE ticket. Not surprisingly, neither de Rothschild nor the Huntsman camp would discuss that possibility, but Tara Malloy, associate counsel at the Washington-based Campaign Legal Center, told HuffPost that at the very least, it's probably not illegal.

Can't take Megyn Kelly with her faux outrage.

In fairness to Megyn, the over-exaggerated emotions and expressions of outrage and concern are typical of news readers. Seems to be what they look for when hiring them. It tends to be more prominent in leftist and local news. Rachel Maddow and Brian Williams are other examples. Unfortunately, Megyn also gets to give her opinion on shows like O'Really as if she were an expert legal analyst.

This reminds me of last week when Sorenson left Bachmann's campaign for Paul. Then Bachmann claimed without any evidence that Sorenson was paid a lot by the Paul campaign. We were caught in the most non-sensical, un-important flap while Santorum rose in the polls without any vetting. Now this is taking up news cycle time from our effort to state our message.

Fortunately there are more state primaries than ineffective Republican candidates. I guess Perry will make a ridiculous claim in SC. Gingrich in Florida. Then Santorum or Romney during Arizona/Michigan. Then it's Mano a Mano!

The style of the video looks very similar the videos on Huntsman's YouTube account. It follows the same pattern of white text on black background (usually a question) followed by footage, with music played throughout the video. The text fades in and out at the same speed also. I don't know a lot about video editing, but notice in the anti-Hunstman ad how the dimensions of the footage is smaller than the video dimensions. It's that way with a video on Huntsman's YouTube also: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cV2wiVPIz9o Is it hard to do? And is it done intentionally? I think the basic style and quirkiness of the anti-Hunstman ad, in addition to the weird statistics and massive media attention, is pretty solid evidence that this was put out by the Hunstman campaign.

And you think this constitutes evidence sufficient for Ron Paul to accuse John Huntsman of doing this?

Are you high?

John Huntsman would turn around and accuse Ron Paul of, once again, engaging in unfounded conspiracy theories that, once again prove how he is unfit to be POTUS.

And in this case, he would be right!!

Do you remember what happened to Herman Cain when he accused the Perry campaign of planting a story without any evidence to back it up? Because if you don't remember that, you have no business seriously discussing this nomination race.

I disagree. I think the fact that it's first referral came from the jon2012.com site is pretty damning evidence.

It makes him look pretty guilty to quickly reference it...Next thing you know they'll start getting angry at Wikipedia edits LOLz :p

The real evidence is the referral by john2012 in the video - and the fact that the entire news media picked this thing up before anyone had seen it, and then brought Huntsman on-air to talk about it, and smeared Ron in the process.

I assume someone sent the campaign the youtube stats? While it is imperative we hit the internet with comments about this, the campaign needs to issue a press release or something, otherwise the media will never pick it up. They probably wont anyway.

No no no no.

If there's anything New Hampshire independents hate, it's attack/negative ads. We have to play it cool for now.

Besides, we don't know if that's a good idea or not. It might be exactly what they want and then they can label Paul some type of cranky old conspricy theorist while glossing over all their issues and positions (like Huntsman's EXTREMELY terrible past positions).

it might have been specifically sent TO them. Did any 'Gingrich supporter' do this? Because it honestly seems like what I would expect from that side, if there is none by a 'Gingrich supporter' but there is by supporters of everyone above him in the polls, I'd be first suspicious there. Newt plays dirty.

If it was sent to them it would not show up as being referred from jon2012.com. The forms on those sites likely go to an e-mail address and youtube would not pick it up as being referred from that site. Also what supporter would make this video and then immediately put a link to it somewhere on the huntsman site? It would have been posted on this site or a paul fan site of some sort before going to huntsman's campaign page.

Huntsmans daughters need to do some research before pulling a stunt like this and should have made it look more realistic (have an existing account, with following etc).

Shouldn't the media do basic investigating? The name of the user is ridiculous. The account is created the same day the video is uploaded, same day the twitter account is created. The twitter account hashtags jon2010girls. The YouTube account tags jon2012girls. One of the first views is from jon2012.com. The video looks like all the videos from Huntsman's YouTube account. It contains family footage. Jon Huntsman said his daughters were going to do it on Piers Morgan a couple days prior. The media is all over it, including internet outlets like RedState. His daughters immediately respond to it. Huntsman responds to it. Here is a quote from a HuffPo article: "When The Huffington Post contacted the poster of the video through YouTube to ask why they created the video and whether they had any formal association with the Paul campaign, NHLiberty4Paul replied: 'Sorry, campaign has asked me not to speak to reporters.'" The Paul campaign should be all over this, they should be pointing out these dirty tricks and attacking Huntsman and the media. Do they not know about this? Are they just flat-footed? It'd be nice to know that they're going to do something about this, rather than just letting the presstitutes spin this story into a 3rd place finish for Ron in New Hampshire.

CNN/Blitzer Show just repeated the lie that this video came from a group of Ron Paul supporters, and made it sound like it was somehow connected to the official campaign. These people have no shame, no scruples and no credibility.

Isn't that the stated purpose of the Ministry of Non-Truth?

Exactly.

Sad part is - there is nothing anyone can do about it… no way to control the narrative now.

Tried ignoring - didn't work
Tried misquoting positions - didn't work
Tried racism - didn't work

Trying guilt by association …

Huntsman is taking advantage of the "attack" to talk about his two adopted daughters (great way to get them into the conversation, huh?)

from the blaze

"“If someone wants to poke fun at me, that’s OK,” Huntsman said, according to the Associated Press. “What I object to is bringing forward pictures and videos of my adopted daughters, and suggesting there is some sinister motive there.”

He said his daughter Gracie, now 12, was abandoned in China when she was two months old and left in a vegetable market.

“She was picked up by the police and sent to an orphanage. No future, nothing to look forward to. Now she’s in my family,” Huntsman said. His daughter Asha, 6, was left to die by the side of a road in India the day she was born."

-Look at the obvious false account name: NHLiberty4Paul
-The profile of the account has nothing else on it but the video and was just created on Jan 4th, the day the video was posted.
-The video's statistics show the first view was from jon2012.com when the video had 0 views.
-Huntsman is making a huge deal out of the video. If this is true, then Huntsman and Santorum both owe us an apology. Is there still a record of that?

Send them this thread. Christ.

The important part is that the video was known about by jon2012 before any youtube searches or twitter referrals. The stat info on the video shows that.

Edit: And why don't they have someone at the campaign to stay on top of this stuff, someone to watch out for media spin and slander, and then react to it?

I hardly call this trolling. It's just frame, libel, and slander.

Besides, obvious troll is obvious. What kind of moron leaves such a paper trail in the stats? Anyone who can add 2+2 can figure out what really happened.

1. Don't use Christ as a cuss at me thanks, I find that highly offensive.
2. I am not sending anyone to read 25 pages, you don't think they have something better to do?

I don't know if there is any solid evidence that Huntsman is connected with the video, but here is what bothers me: The username seems unbelievable. The account is created the same day the video is uploaded, the same day the twitter account is created. One of the first views is from jon2012.com before the video becomes a news story. The video tags jon2012girls in the description and the Twitter account hashtags jon2012girls. The video contains family footage. It looks like the other videos on Huntsman's YouTube account. Huntsman said his daughters were going to release something a few days prior on Piers Morgan. Also, the user of the account NHLibery4Paul told Huffington Post, ""Sorry, campaign has asked me not to speak to reporters." These things put together probably justify some kind of investigation.

Edit: The footage of Huntsman is from: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kExJf4254zU
Not exactly a popular video. It's in Chinese and doesn't tag Huntsman.
