I think it is the best RevPac add for the state. It shows that Paul is not some Texas "bigot" as the MSM has tried to portray him and it also reminds people that he is more then a champion of liberty, he is also a champion of life.

I think where he says "I never got a bill from the hospital or anything" does the trick right before he says "he was doing it to thank one human being next to the other."

People are moved by stuff like this and I hope it works in the short time we have to Tuesday.

Yes, that was the only part that could fit in. If the extra information about the bill was left in, it wouldn't allow the extra parts at the end about honesty, which we felt was important to drive home as the ad closes. Believe me, you'd be pulling your hair out trying to edit this down to fit perfectly into 60 secs...it's like a freaking magic trick.

I agree that removing the stillborn line and replacing with "he said he'll take care of it" would be or could be appropriate. But I wouldn't put it past the media to bring up the omission of that and say "revpac is dishonest with their ad... ron delivered a still**** baby" etc.. and paint it negative. can't win.
Great editing. I'll have to think about this some more in terms of mentioning it.

I'm not so sure it has blown over. Glenn Beck was talking about them again yesterday, and if we know the media, they will bring them up in the debate, showing quotes/clips from them on screens...why? Because it's a non-topic to a country that is $15 trillion in debt.

Take a poll? Difficult choice. I say keep the still born part and exchange where he never got a bill from the hospital to where he said RP would take care of the Bill. Shows more compassion on RP than say the hospital.

Drop the part "did not receive a bill from the hospital and add As far as the bill he said he would take care of everything. Either way hopefully it will get a good response in NH.

Chris, if you add the "he said as far as the bill, he would take care of everything, which he did", you can get rid of the "i never got a bill from the hospital or anything", which becomes redundant.

This. Chris, I think the sentiment will overwhelmingly be to add the "as far as the bill, he said he would take care of everything" part, and remove the part where he didn't get a bill from the hospital. That doesn't imply that Ron Paul paid for it. We want to focus on Ron Paul's generosity, and the fact that he had a stillborn doesn't really add to that.

If it doesn't fit, I can speed up the audio for you without changing the pitch / tone of his voice.

Yes has the best of both worlds, keeping the still born part and adding RP was compassionate to take care of everything.

i did not have the impression...but i can see how others could.

it does jump somewhat abruptly from 'still born baby boy' to 'i never got a bill from the hospital or anything' - always wondered if there was anything said in between those two statements that could be used as a sort of empathetic bridge (e.g. "still born baby boy...bridge...i never got a bill...").

Or maybe leave the still born out as others are suggesting?

Right on - did he say anything that could soften the transition from 'still born' to 'bill'?

Jumping immediately from death to brass tacks sort of undermines the emotional hook created a second earlier. It's borderline cold.

At 0:50, I hear some sort of abnormal sound, like overlapping voice-over. Please check it out.

:60 cut
"I never received a bill from the hospital or anything" [0:30]

Full
"And he said, as far as the bill, he would take care of anything. I never received a bill from the hospital or anything" [1:06 - 1:14]

If those extra 5 seconds or so could be included, I think it would be just even better. But again, excellent work!

3 different ads is too much information to expect to an audience to keep in their head. If people come away with just this single ad in their mind when thinking about Ron Paul, then that should match your best expectations.

I just read about the different versions. To me, the most emotional quote (the one I got teary) of the 2 minute version was: "There's a lot of politics, and no honesty". Because that's the one which makes the perfect connection between 'telling an old story' and 'ron paul is an honest man'. If you are ever going to think about a third version, consider including "There's a lot of politics, and no honesty."

The old version may air a bit tomorrow while this new one works its way into the system. But the new one will be the one during Sat's debate.

The new one is perfect. Nicely done.

great job RevolutionPac team.

I'd recommend, though, on future ads, if possible, that you provide a link to the youtube video so that people can watch the thing in its entirety. I'm not sure if this ad could have been edited in a way that told the story as effectively as the longer version did, but there's not much that can be done about that. People who actually take the time to look up RevolutionPAC's videos on youtube are the types of research-doing voters who are likely to end up voting for Ron Paul, so like I said, if there's a way to ad a link in at the end that goes straight to the youtube ads, I'd put it in.

That's all I can think of. Great job.

why the same ad three times?

people respond more to hearing the same thing over and over. that is why you often see ads over and over and over again. i believe it's a common psychological marketing tactic.

Apparently in the live ABC debate page someone reposted a tweet that on almost every commercial break this came on.
