Hello all. I was listening to a talk show host who claims to be a conservative and/or libertarian. But he sucks when it comes to civil liberties. (Ralph Bristol for those in middle Tennessee). Anyway someone called in today to ask why he didn't ask congresswoman Diane Black about the NDAA. Well Ralph claimed that the NDAA isn't a problem unless you are a terrorist or suspected terrorist. This woman couldn't take what an idiot Ralph was being and hung up on him. Another caller called in and said "Sure, but who do you trust to decide who's a potential terrorist"? Ralph said "I trust the military". Then another caller pointed out that Obama is commander in chief of the military and that the Obama administration and even the Bush administration had documents circulating that people who believe in the constitution and were critical of government or were gun owners or returning vets were potential terrorists. Ralph said "Sure, there could be abuses. But we live in an open society. People were concerned about the Patriot Act. But I haven't seen any real abuses. If there were any there would be a large outcry and the abuses would stop." Someone else called in and told Ralph about a case he had heard about on the West Cost of a minor arrested under the Patriot Act who's mother couldn't even locate. Ralph just pretended he didn't hear and repeated is "If there were abuses there would be an outcry blah blah blah."

Ralph went further. He claimed that the constitution "is at odds with itself" and the "duty to protect from enemies foreign and domestic" superseded the 4th and 5th amendments because we are "at war with people who want to kill us all." He gave the illustration of how if his wife needed an abortion to save her life he would do that even though he's against abortion. Of course that exposes the false choice of his argument. Those who were against the late term abortion ban claimed that a life exception was needed even though the AMA had found that a late term abortion was never needed to save the life of the mother since a Cesarean could be done at that point. Likewise when you have the U.S. government letting a suspected terrorist on a plane even after his father tells us ahead of time he's a terrorist, because the government allegedly wanted to catch a bigger fish, or when you have a government informant in 1993 making the bomb for the first WTC bombing which killed 7 people, or you have FBI agent Colleen Rowley testifying that she was thwarted by the justice department for even attempting to get a warrant to search the laptop of the "13th hijacker" prior to 9/11, that undercuts the argument that the government really "needs" all of this excess power to "protect" us. Really, would people like Ralph Bristol be okay with the government doing away with the 2nd amendment just because it might make it harder for people like the Ft Hood shooter, all the while the same government is selling automatic weapons to Mexican drug gangs?

Anyway, enough of the rant. Here's what I'd like. Please post documented abuses of the rights of INNOCENT people by the federal government post 9/11 through excess power the federal government has asserted post 9/11. Please provide links. And although I love Alex Jones, please provide links from mainstream websites. (Often Infowars.com will include source links to MSM websites for their articles. Use them).

This doesn't specifically say that it was allowed by the Patriot Act, but it seems pretty likely:

At least two people have found GPS trackers on their vehicles placed there by the Feds.

I vaguely remember a story about how over 200 people were prosecuted & convicted using the Patriot Act for being intoxicated & or belligerent on an airplane.
