Montana Political Gun Group Endorses Ron Paul for President

MISSOULA, MT - The Montana Shooting Sports Association (MSSA)
announced today that it has endorsed Congressman Ron Paul to be
nominated as the Republican candidate for President of the United
States. Ron Paul has long served in the U.S. House of
Representatives from Texas. Congressman Paul stunned many political
observers this past Monday by raising $4.2 million in campaign
donations from small donors in one 24-hour period.

MSSA president Gary Marbut commented, "Ron Paul has been a consistent
and ardent supporter of the rights of gun owners for 30 years. We
commend him to all thoughtful and concerned gun owners." Marbut
continued, "Several of the announced candidates for President have
freshly-minted, made-for-campaign positions on gun rights that are
simply not consistent with their track records. This is not true of
Dr. Paul. He is the real deal. Ron Paul has a long history of being
four square in support of the right to keep and bear arms."

MSSA is the primary political action organization for gun owners and
hunters in Montana, having achieved the passage of over 40 pieces of
pro-gun and pro-hunting legislation before the Montana Legislature in
the past 20 years. This includes the decade-long but popular and
successful effort to amend the right to hunt and fish into the
Montana Constitution, and Montana's current concealed weapon permit law.

In its endorsement letter to Congressman Paul, MSSA encouraged gun
rights groups across the U.S. and others concerned about individual
liberty, to join the Ron Paul groundswell (called the "Ron Paul
Revolution") that is sweeping the U.S.

Congressman Paul's efforts to assert the constitutional rights of gun
owners are too numerous to list here, but a summary of recent support
is available at:

Fantastic news! Ron Paul is a man who believes in the 2nd Amendment to the letter. Anti-gun laws do nothing but hurt those who obey the law.

I love how the states out west have really taken to RP. On the east coast it seems like a lot of the pro-gun types are warmongerers who go for Thompson.

I'd love to see a similar endorsement from the Gun Owners of America. :P

If nothing else... you can safely say that Ron Paul is the most pro 2nd amendment candidate in this race.

I suspect we have had a lot of closet supporters for some time but they were waiting to see that Ron Paul was a viable candidate before they threw their support behind him, as there have been a number of endorsements today.

Exactly. They want to back a winner! If we keep rising in the polls and have more successful money bombs on the Veterans Day and December 16th, we may see more endorsements and more cash and more votes! Ron Paul! Ron Paul! Ron Paul!

I received a letter from NRA today wnating me to join, needles to say, it's going in the garbage. I think I'll join the GOA instead, the real pro-second amandment group. :)
