It amazes me how a close 3rd place finish has decimated so many people on these forums. The cause of liberty cannot be won in a single evening nor can it be lost in a lifetime. As long WE keep liberty alive, and bring the message of liberty to others who are beginning to see what is happening to our country, there is a chance.

Now onto the election. John McCain was the nominee in 2008 and only had 13.3% of the vote. Rick Santorum was a surprise but not that big of a surprise. Neither was Mitt. In fact, we should have seen it coming. Dr. Paul peaked a week too early. That's all. But he showed that he has broad support - even among the evangelicals. Romney got the liberal votes in the city - not a big surprise.

A close third place finish means nothing except that there is more work to do.

It isn't over yet unless we decide it's over. But the campaign has their work cut out for them, that's for sure.

Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?

I'm very optimistic about what happened in Iowa despite the results....however, you can't compare Paul to McCain. The media was a slobberfest with McCain. Paul doesn't have that luxary. Every thing we have is earned.

Which is why it will be all the sweeter to taste victory.

McCain had 24/7 media hype and pimping. We wont have that. We are not John McCain. We are not the establishment.

Paul has been in Congress for 30 years. How is he not the establishment?

Welcome to the forums. I suggest you research why he's called Dr. No and see how many times he was among 5 or fewer congressman voting against legislation.

Fighting the establishment for 30 years does not make on a part of it.
