BOONE, Iowa — At a hot, crowded Pizza Ranch this afternoon, where journalists and locals jostled for sight lines and breathing space, Rick Santorum explained why Iowans shouldn’t just accept what seems like the inevitable, and just settle for Mitt Romney.
Mr. Santorum generally avoided mentioning his opponent by name, but he clearly had the notorious flip-flopper from Massachusetts in mind when he encouraged Iowans to support someone who “believes what he says” instead of someone “who can appeal to moderate voters by being more moderate.” Imagine that – being moderate.
