Just talking to a guy who said that we need to take actions against Iran to prevent them from closing the straights of Hormuz. I told him that interventionism like that is what causes blowback. I then asked him if he would have any problem with Russia if they attacked us because they feared we could attack Iran. He didn't quite get it and it took him a second to think. I said the interventionism you preach would be used against us if we set the standard in the U.N. and we would have to then argue before the U.N. Security Counsel why it is ok for the United States to take preemptive action against a country but it is not ok for them to take preemptive action against us.
He said your right, but still wanted to bomb Iran
