One of my biggest problems with government in general is Conflict of Interest. In all areas of government, there is conflict of interest. Cops are incentivized to write tickets because the precincts get a chunk of the cash. Congress passes pro-bankster regs because the banks line their reelection coffers.
Isn't it a conflict of interest to vote on legislation that would favor one of your donors? Isn't this a no-brainer?
I think there should be a constitutional amendment that addresses conflict of interest. So I've done something. I put in a petition (lobbying) to WeThePeople to ask the Obama adminstration to spearhead this. Probably no shot in hell, but I'd love for the Whitehouse to actually address it. If I get 25k e-signatures, they have to. Lobbying to eliminate lobbying, check it out:
