On Monday, January 2nd the 12-term Congressman from Texas and the junior Senator from the Commonwealth of Kentucky will make five stops – ones in Polk, Scott, Linn, Black Hawk, and Cerro Gordo counties. In addition, Senator Paul on his own will kick off the day by appearing live in-studio with WHO Radio’s Jan Mickelson.

I wish Rand would've done more than just one day there.... better than nothing I guess....

Yeah he should have been there way more often!

I love what the campaign has done in Iowa so far, but they have made a mistake in not getting Rand out there on the trail more. He should have been there at least as often as Romney surrogates were.

I really want to know, why did Rand wait so long to jump in the game? I don't know how much influence he can dish out in the course of a few days.... But surely these people know what they are doing.

Even if Ron loses, we'll still have the ground infrastructure for a 2016 or 2020 Rand run. Jeezus even saying those numbers makes me feel old.

I think because it would dilute the effectiveness. Rand is like the McRib. Comes out every once in a while as a seasonal promotion and folks go crazy. It's a marketing thing. :)

Why the hell did he wait so long? Now Santorum is surging, says the polls. We could have had this locked up if he came three days ago.

Seems like starting a month ago would have been better.

Remember that a lot of important votes and debates have been going on in the Senate.

I love the McRib! It's like taking Ron Paul's message and slathering it in BBQ sauce. Mmmm...

We cannot really second guess the campaign until the IA results on the 3rd. If Paul loses, then your statement is likely correct. But if Paul wins by 7 points then waiting until the end to bring our Rand was pure genius.

Hey he has to do his duty in the Senate too, but yeah it would have been good if he started sooner.

Are the McRibs really that good? I've had it once and they were like whatever to me...

Mcrib is basically a hotdog with a shape vaguely resembling ribs... I think.

poor Rand stands a high probability of being namedropped in the same sentence or paragraph as
clay, calhoun and webster, let alone barry goldwater or robert taft, yet he may achieve immortality
in the context of having a pleasantly superficial resemblence to a McDonald's McRib. i love politics!!!!

The campaign knows that it is extremely important to finish strong and that's exactly what they plan to do. This is great.

Go Rand!

I don't think coming in on Sunday and doing somekind of tour and then the one on Monday would have diminished his effect. If anything it would have maximized it. Rand would have been the focus of conversation two days before and the day before the caucus.
