He's doing fine, he's speaking plainly and honestly.

Sorenson was asked if this was typical Iowa politics. He said RP and Romney were the top tier and he does not want Romney to win. If he loses his next race because he endorsed Ron Paul, he is fine with this.

Republican strategist is now mocking Sorenson and asked why he switched from Bachmann to Paul. Soreneson said RP helped him in 2008 when nobody did, including the Republican establishment. "They said there wa sno way I could win". It was a tough battle. Ron Paul people were my only allies. They did three fundraisers for me. They door knocked for me. They were THE most dedicated campaign vounteers I had.

Bachmann approached me back then and asked me for my help. I called RP, and they were not able to respond to me, so I joined Bachmann. RP people came to my aid in a tough race.

CNN anchor: What if RP slides? Will you switch again?

Soreneson: Listen, I am sticking with RP. I believe RP has run a textbook campaign and has invested in all 99 counties and Iowans will reward him.

CNN anchor: Why show up at Bachmann event 5 hours earlier.

Sorenson: That event is in my hometown. My district. Just like I attended a RP event a month earlier. If anyone invites me to attend an event in my hometown, I go there. It was awkward because I have friends on both sides. It is not like I was entering a RP group that I knew no one. I knew them for a while. I felt like was coming back to part of my family.

Wow. I think it ended well. Sorenson was clearly frazzled at the beginning and they had knives out. Bachmann is supposed to be Wolf tonight on cNN.

Bachmann will be on The Situation Room to lie about Sorenson at 5PM ET. Funny how she now claims this mysterious conversation was only heard by her

This is strong. Although he sounds like it was a tough decision, he hasn't stepped into anything and said very kind things about how Ron Paul and his supporters aided him when the Republican establishment was against him. His story holds up.

I am almost certain Sorenson DID say RP campaign offered him more money, but way back in the time period when he was deciding on which faction to join. He probably chose Bachmann for political reasons, and then had pangs of guilt down the road. But he did not jump ship to RP and was not offered money to jump ship. So Bachmann is telling a half trurth and any decent reporter would ask Bachmann exactly WHEN Sorenson told her this.

I listened as well and this is a good summary.

Sorenson's main point is that he doesn't want Romney to win Iowa, doesn't think he is a conservative. Paul is in a tight race vs. Romney to win Iowa and Sorenson wants to aid him in that regard. Also has ties to Paul campaign from '08 and '10.

I can't believe Fox is dragging him on the air so he can say Romney isn't a Conservative, but should be fun anyway.

Don't think that is what he said.

He said he was asked by Bachmann to join her campaign first. He called Paul's campaign and was told he wasn't sure he whether or not Dr. Paul would be running and so he took the opportunity to work for Bachmann.

Still this distraction is much better than having to watch Gingrich's opinion of Ron Paul played out over CNN. The fact the Gingrich would support Obama over Paul just shows me I was right all along in being anti-Gingrich.

I think it took some balls for this guy to jump ship at this point. I give him credit. And, he seems like more of a "normal guy" than most regular politicians- because he is a state senator and not caught up in the DC mess. I loved that he called Romney a "frugal socialist". Haha.

Exactly, politics... I expect another stink bomb by the establishment over the next few days.... Hope we are ready to counter in a quick and decisive manner...

Bachman may hang around, she is over... Frothy is and has been vying for a vice pres run this whole time... I predict Bachman and Frothy pull out by the end of Jan 2012... Newt may hang around, but it would be to maximize exposure and sling mud at Paul... They are all going to sling mud at Paul....

I wish he had said Bachmann isn't going to win and I think she should do the same thing I did and come out and support the only viable fiscal and economic conservative left in the race -- Ron Paul.

Also when he was asked about Rick Santorum he should have said Santorum is not a fiscal or monetary conservative and has no plans to shrink the size of government like Ron Paul has.
