Not sure if this is result of former NYT neocon Judith Miller curse but pretty significant change is taking place as the largest media empire starts drastic scale down:

I haven't read the New York Times for years... paper or online. I just couldn't do it anymore. Yeah, news organizations just can't go around lying to people and covering up news for 100 years without eventually paying the piper.

U.S. Senators are next. Let's get rid of all of them who refuse to audit the fed.

All print newspapers are having problems these days as people get more of their info from the internet and they are finding less revenue coming in from advertising to pay for their workers and services.

Its also the believability factor. They do some things well since they have so much money to hire talented people, but when it comes down to real news and opinions I seek independent minds. Im sure a lot of others do the same.
