I freaking hate when they call elected officials "Mr."

It should be Congressman Paul or Dr. Paul, Speaker Gingrich, Governor Romney, etc.

"Speaker" Gingrich would be factually incorrect. Former speaker, okay, but not speaker. However, Ron Paul is currently both a Dr and a Representative, so he deserves to be addressed as such.

They could call Gingrich 'hop-toad' for all my sense of propriety would be offended.

I do think they should call Ron Dr. Paul though.

They call former presidents Mr. President, don't they?

Mr. isn't that bad. I don't think Paul cares about titles, he just wants to get his name and message out there. Those worried about titles are insecure, and usually are not worthy of their title.

Darth Gingrich seems more menacing. Every time I hear the name "Newt" I picture the Geicko Gecko for some reason.
