Nearly fifteen years ago, I was running for the Virginia House of Delegates (in the 49th District, then completely within Arlington County, one of the most heavily Democratic and liberal districts in the state).
The campaign took place during the period that, according to Kirchick, "Ron Paul" was making derogatory, anti-gay remarks in "his" newsletters. As it happens, I was running as an openly-gay candidate for the Virginia General Assembly. (It was my second run for that office after a previous attempt in a special election in January 1991. The same district currently has an openly-gay Democrat representing it in Richmond.)

Interesting. It is truly disgusting that the media machine is trying to distort Ron's character like this. Should we sent this to HuffPost and other socially Liberal sites?

Couldn't that be used AGAINST Ron Paul in Republican primaries?

Written 4 years ago, this time he is endorsing Gary Johnson...still a good read and useful for the right audience.

I know you are trying to help by posting this, but with many Republicans this will not help him, it will only hurt.

Proving that they have no cognitive dissonance, I suspect that the MSM will use this against Paul (He is a homophobe who supports gay marriages!)

I have no doubt they will use it against him if all else fails.

I think this is great. We all know Ron Paul has said again and again that what consenting adults do with their own lives is no one's business. It's not his choice and he is arguably a social conservative in his own life, but recognizes that it's his private choice. Government's purpose is NOT social engineering.

This article helps and for the purpose of refuting the "homophobe" claims, it doesn't matter at all what this fellow's positions were. And really, do you think Paul is the kind of guy to endorse someone who has conflicting positions?? This is positive information, absolutely.

Don't expect the mainstream media to write about this. They are investing in a narrative.

Yes, I tried to call into a national radio show regarding this, and it got dumped. Said I was just a "paulbot" making stuff up, and didn't explain what I said that needed dumping.

Get ready for a scorched earth talk radio campaign against Ron Paul before Iowa. This poll is going to light that match. It's sad so many of these talk radio guys are behind the times on where the conservative mainstream is moving towards.

You would think that considering the way they
booed the Gay soldier at one of the debates.
This just proves that RonPaul is problaby more tolerant
than any other GOP candidate.

I am not homophobic, but I am definitely brunophobic. If I saw that guy, I would quickly run the other way, no question about it.
