For Callers to Iowa: Slight Script Change?

Iowans are getting real tired of being called by all the campaigns, so I wonder how the following intro would work in these last few days:

"Hi, Mr/s. ______, this is _______. I'm sure you're getting lots of political calls, but would you possibly be up for just a few real quick questions?"

Shows you have sympathy for them and establishes understanding right off the bat. In other words, you catch them off-guard, connect on their wavelength, and they may be more willing to cooperate with you.

When I was in sales, I used the same tactic all the time. You tend to win over a lot of people by taking a more "human" approach like that instead of being a robot.
