Two sets of laws. One for legal citizens and one for illegals.

Looks like the law applies to both illegals and legals alike. I have no problem with it. Seems like an evil alignment between business and cops to me. The tow companies pay $75k to be able to tow then collect the fees.

Hmmm maybe so

what a crock of BS this headline is. The real headline reads "California to Ban Police From Towing Cars of Unlicensed Drivers" and by unlincensed drivers, they mean ANYONE without a valid drivers license and not just illegals. Again, good for California for stopping the police from stealing anymore of the peoples properties illegal or not.

The law proposal does not specify citizenship- only licensed vs unlicensed drivers. Yes, it does concern legal vs illegal drivers- as far as do they have a license is concerned but not based on legal or illegal residency. What it does do is to give the police less of a reason to seize somebody's private property at a check point.

I think this is a potential good law but I would like to know more specs about it. Another thing, illegals need to be booted the F out of this state as they're a major drain on every aspect of life out here.

Do you have any idea what happened in Georgia when they booted their illegals? Our state economy would be more in the dumpster than it already is. I've been a California resident my whole life and I fail to see how they "drain" every aspect of my life. I'm not in favor of illegal immigration but we can't just "boot" them out. We need a transfer process and ultimately a better immigration policy.

We could let low-level prisoners pick the vegetables like they do in parts of oregon, montana and washington. The prisoners don't seem to mind in those states and they get paid a wage(it's less than illegals btw).

I'm an 8 generation Californian. My relatives were spanish. I'm not a big fan of L.A. becoming Tijuana. I've lived in L.A. for most of my life. They have ruined once nice neighborhoods and have brought major crime to far too many areas. Hospital closures, diseases that were once wiped out until they started coming in. Not too mention overcrowding the school system and now pathetic tests scores compared to when they were not here. California pays about 13 billion per year on illegals alone.

No we could not. It incentivises a police state. I know that you might think you might never be there but then it might just come down to how many heads of lettuce need to be picked.

Oh yes we can. Even if you kicked out all of the b.s. petty criminals from prison, we would still have more then enough people who deserve to be in prison to fill that void. I think California might be one of the biggest prison states there is. People who can't get parole but are model prisoners should also have a chance to work. Supervised of course. I see nothing wrong with this at all, if it is by their choice. And in those other states, THEY CHOOSE to do it to get some fresh air. Some other ideas would be that if you don't want prison time for stealing, or comiting a more serious crime, you can do some labor/field work(it's your choice of course). Freedom of choice.

If they are not going to tow / fine , I see it as a good thing.
