I'm impressed that the smears against RP haven't shown up in the polls; he's won 5 of the last 6 polls in Iowa, and even the one that had Romney ahead showed a +1 gain for RP from their last poll.
I've been looking at the comments sections of major news articles smearing RP, and they're running about 3-1 in Paul's defense. There are more of us now than in 2007-08, and we're hitting the comments sections harder. It's working.
If the smears continue not to stick in Iowa, the media will likely keep pushing them anyway, which frames the power structure correctly for people, and makes it obvious to those still asleep: the media and the government are two arms of the same beast, and that beast is not on your side.
So everything will be discredited at once in the eyes of the people: government AND lapdog media, as normally happens.
And just to be clear: the person who wants to stop bombing brown people all over the world, who wants to allow jobs to be created for black and brown people here, and who wants to pardon hundreds of thousands of brown and black people languishing in prisons for nonviolent drug "offenses" -- that guys a racist. But the people who want to torture, kill, incarcerate and impoverish millions of black and brown people in this country and abroad for their own personal gain and control -- those people aren't racist at all. Are we clear?
