GoDaddy submitted a congressional statement (http://www.thedomains.com/2011/11/15/here-is-godaddys-statement-in-support-of-the-stop-online-privacy-act-house-hearing-tomorrow/) in support of SOPA. Facing a customer backlash they've released a tepid PR statement reversing their position. That said sites like StackExchange and Wikipedia are planning on moving their domain registrations to another company.

I noticed RonPaulForums.com is registered with GoDaddy. I wonder if the admins would consider moving the registration to a registrar that supported Internet freedom?

from engadget writeup:

It looks like the prospect of widespread boycott was more than Go Daddy was willing to face as a result of its support for the Stop Online Piracy Act -- the domain name registrar announced today that it has officially withdrawn its support for the controversial bill. In a statement, the company said that "fighting online piracy is of the utmost importance, which is why Go Daddy has been working to help craft revisions to this legislation - but we can clearly do better," adding that it will support new legislation "when and if the Internet community supports it." That move proved to be too late for a number of prominent Go Daddy customers, however, including Wikipedia, which coincidentally announced today that it will be moving all of its domain names away from Go Daddy due to its stance on SOPA.

it will support new legislation "when and if the Internet community supports it." - spineless.

Lol, GoDaddy admins closed threads after they posted GD's flip-flop of withdrawing SOPA support. But it looks like the damage is done. What a bunch of panty-waisted pussies for nit standing up in the first place. I hate spineless companies (and people). At least have conviction on something.

I looks like it's even worse, Godaddy was getting an exception from SOPA

Thanks for the suggestions, fellas.

Going to wait a few more days and then choose based on SOPA stance, features and service.
