As popularity grows among Presidential candidates, the more their skeletons are exposed from their closets. Most of these past mistakes are simply allocations with little truth behind them, but opponents will dig up or lie about almost anything to put another candidate in the hot seat. The media helps spread these speculations to the public, covering mostly the gossip that is presented and not informing us on much of anything useful. The public enjoys scandal, and they use it when making decisions about buying, listening and voting, and the candidates rely on this for votes. The media also uses this technique in effort to sway voters towards the candidate they support. A lot money gets pushed around during election time, and this leads to the public being ill informed, unfocused, uninterested and the politicians never have to address the real issues.

While most candidates seemly try to just fill in the time their given with attacking other candidates, patriotic slogans and empty promises with words the public wants to hear until the time runs out, Ron Paul seems like he can't get enough time addressing issues. Republican candidate Ron Paul is known for bring attention to issues like our countries economic situation, the messes created in the Middle East and the dangers of the "War on Drugs", whether the topic is popular with other candidates or not. Rather then attack his opponents on speculative information and gossip, he attacks them on the areas were the candidate made bad judgments on necessary issues.

But recently his opponents and the media sources they sponsor have attacked Ron Paul on an issue he has battled for decades. The controversy is over some newsletters containing some racist content that was associated with his name. The letters date back to when Ron Paul was practicing medicine in the 80's. Ron Paul claims he had no knowledge of the letters until a few years after their release, he has been documented as contending the accusations ever since.
