We want to go up, as people look at Ron not have Gingrich go up. And it is a five day average so Ron staying the same when he was on an upward trajectory MIGHT be a sign of something, unsure yet. It might just stall as people look into him and move up. But I don't like not moving up more. GINGRICH moving up indicates potential staying power which baffles me.

Margin of error... if it's daily, I wouldn't read too much into small fluctuations. It might have even really been slightly down.

It's just noise until you see a trend in one direction for several days. Like Newt dropping 10 points in a week is real movement. Wasn't he like 37 nationally when they started daily polling?

No worries, we are right where we need to be nationally. 12% on the eve of the caucus is McCain territory.

I do believe that the smear attempts will have an effect in the national polls on the short term. After we win Iowa and their smears sound played and old, things will head back up again. This is all part of the fight.

It will be ten times worse once he wins Iowa. This is just panic mode. Once Ron wins Iowa they will go into war mode. You'll see viscous attacks from every angle and smears like you couldn't imagine. Ron will rise above it though, he's a tough old guy.

My guess is Newt had a really bad poll one day and it just fell off. I wouldn't see him going back up at this point.

National polls mean little at this time other than to sway public opinion further.
