View Full Version : Ron Paul really needs to...
just be himself.
You know, be the elderly gent that drops truth bombs left and right. Be the guy that got your attention. Be the guy that won you over. Be the guy who showed you what an honest politician looked like, when we'd all but given up hope one existed. Be the guy that reminded you what liberty is, and what America is, and stands for. Be, you know, the guy that probably even got you to reread (or read) our Constitution. Be the guy who has always spoke and acted with consistent principle, and acted with an integrity that is rare among even the most honorable of men.
Ron Paul should be that guy. You know... the guy he's always been, and always will be. And is now. The one you love.
This guy won your heart, right? He will win more. And more. Because it's worth remembering he never tailored his message for you - just look around these forums, and you'll see ex-neo-cons calmly discussing foreign policy with ex-liberals alongside peaceniks, veterans, and anarchists, men of god gleefully discussing the latest vids with godless heathens (like me), men and women, young and old, all cheering together when Ron Paul knocks one out of the park on national tv. We're here not because he swayed us with pandering smooth talk - his message spoke to all of us from all our varied backgrounds. The man speaks truth to power at a time when, as he might say, truth is treason. And that message unifies us all.
He won you over, and me over, being exactly who he is.
Stop worrying about every last little thing. Stop needing him to change who he is or how he presents himself (hint: he won't). Him being him worked for you, and me, and you and you and you. We don't need him to change. He won't change. We're in the middle of winning a revolution, and some of you still complain his suit doesn't quite fit. I mean, c'mon. His suit probably didn't sit quite right the night you realized you could never vote for anyone but Ron Paul.
Let Ron be Ron. He's catching on, I'm tellin' ya.

Thank you for writing that. I sometimes get discouraged. At most these days, well since the last election ( and I NEVER stopped campaigning after 08) I seem to get energized. I am so deeply offended by the establishment's attempts to marginalize, discredit, ignore and misrepresent about my candidate whom I agree with on at least 95% of his positions (then later he convinces me on the other 5%). Not only are they marginalizing my candidate, but me and all who agree with me and him. It turns out that there are a lot more of us then we may realize. I am re-energized because of my fellow patriots. People who are from all walks of life. All previous politicial persuasions, geographies and backgrounds. All coming together with freedom, peace, prosperity, American sovereignty and standard of living on their minds
Thank you Dr Paul for enlightening me on the dangers of central banking and on the intrusiveness of government into all of our lives. Law enforcement telling us that they need armored vehicles with gun turrets up top to keep us safe. These military vehicles are roaming the streets in North Dakota! What? Where are all the terrorists? North Dakota! Maryland police spent over a million $$ to purchase military grade night vision goggles so that they can see people without their seat belts at night time. Thank you Dr Paul for being the ONLY ONE who even talks about this militarism and authoritarianism and control of us by our servant government. Thank you government for protecting us from little girls selling home made lemonaid on the streets of New Jersey. After all, they might be terrorists!!
Yes keep this country strong and powerful! Amen to that. But what does that really mean? That we're stronger when our government spends more money and exerts more effort to secure the borders between Iran and Iraq and between North and South Korea than they do in protecting our own border and, that, some how keeps us safer than to bring those troops home to protect the United States? We cannot ignore the complexities of the geopolitical machinations or the myriad of dangers whether real or fabricated but what's the point in being safe if you're not free? Is this too simplisitic? Am I some sort of retrograde or wide eyed radical for still valuing my freedom to the point of actually being committed to defending it? Despite the fact that this country would never have been founded and our freedoms never would have lasted without the precondition that we have a right to defend ourselves even from our own government. Today there is a notion in government and law enforcement that we don't. Our troops and elected officials swear an oath to defend the Constitution from all enemies foreign and_________. Thank you Dr Paul for standing up for my freedom and my security. You Sir are my musket. You Sir are my tank. You Sir standing up for my freedoms which are as attached to me as my fingers and my toes against my government that takes my freedom every day. My Bill of Rights has been violated repeatedly by my government. My servant government is fast becoming my master and the master of my children as they rip their toes and fingers off. Extreem? Maybe. But you just try to take my rights and I'll....I'll pick up my musket and vote for ONE ONE BUT PAUL

With your permission may I post those beautiful and insightful words? This should go out to a wider audience.

of course. no need to give credit. you may want to edit out the "(like me)" phrase so you don't accidentally call yourself a godless heathen.

Thanks. And wouldn't want anybody to think I'm a godless heathen. It would ruin my reputation. LOL

Let the media do their job of spreading lies,
Let us do our job of helping Dr.Paul's Presidential Campaign, by convincing people to vote for him.
Neutralize the media bias by your action !

Welcome to politics. Enjoy the ride.
You can't let the media discourage you... just keep on reppin' the doc and let people start to wake up for themselves. The media shoots itself in the foot half the time anyway when they mess up and show how blatantly controlled and arrogant they are.

I've been guilty of making a "Ron Paul should..." thread before too and the truth is that he knows exactly what he's doing. From now on I'll keep my trap shut and let him lead the way to a presidency. He knows what he is doing and has forgotten more about politics than we'll ever know.
