I honestly teared up a little.

This ad is as good if not better than Serial Hypocrisy.

It's patient, has a clear and focused narrative and best of all, attacks without attacking. It forces the conversation into our sweet spot (the constitution + support from military) that none of the other candidates can compete with.

Think apple focusing on battery life 2 years back with the launch of their new MacBook pros. No other laptops came close.

Although while we're changing this segment, would be nice to line up the text after the 1. 2. 3. instead of having the U.S. shift (same for the other lists).

Needs a website so us serfs can donate to its airing like you guys did with the Super Voter Bomb website, people like seeing how their dollar is being spent. They also enjoy seeing their name come up on the ticker. We should definitely look to air it in SC and shore up some support there.

AdamT

They need to make a condensed (60 second) version of this that can be put on TV.

I think cutting it to 60 secs would be difficult.

WD-NY
12-22-2011, 06:09 PM
I bet that if RevPAC cut this down to 60 seconds, upload it to youtube, then presented us with their ad buy plan, the grassroots would raise them whatever their plan called for.

Taking a page out of the RonPaulBrochure playbook, they could put their 'ad buy plan' online and break whatever they'd like to raise up into smaller and super specific 'milestones' (e.g. 10 spots during Fox & Friends in New Hampshire for $10k, 15 spots during Morning Joe in NH = $5k, etc.). Donors could then put money towards whichever shows/ad-buys they like best.

So there could be a 'macro ticker' that counts the total raised plus a bunch of 'micro tickers' that display how each specific ad buy has raised.

As for the plan that gets shared, the more specific the better imo (e.g. 'We believe this ad will play best to x & y demographics. In order to target this demo, we need $250k to play this ad on X, Y & Z channels/programs/shows because that's what they watch. This is how much running this ad during each program costs...")

No TV plans at the moment but that may change (assuming a 60 sec re-cut is even possible). It's going to be used as pre-roll advertising though on YT in primary states.

http://www.examiner.com/independent-in-salt-lake-city/grassroots-video-on-ron-paul-foreign-policy-converts-many

Wheeler's first Ron Paul video, "Ron Paul: The Only One We Can Trust" was posted in September and was met with a tremendous response as well. It's currently being used by a private internet company in a multi-million dollar internet marketing campaign on Facebook to target voters in Iowa and New Hampshire. Viewers of "The Only One We Can Trust" sent Wheeler YouTube links to videos about Ron Paul's foreign policy positions that helped shape the focus of the new video and were included in the final product. Wheeler noted that, in a way, it was a team effort by Ron Paul supporters.

I was guessing that was RevPAC, as they have talked about having donors lined up, but they only wanted to do interenet advertising for some reason.

FA.Hayek
12-22-2011, 07:09 PM
Why can't we have a billionaire like Gingrich to just donate a couple of million bucks to us to run all the wonderful stuff RevPAC is doing? surely there's one rich guy that cares enough about this country to donate to Paul's campaign

If you collect enough to play the ad wonderful, if not use the funds to send brochures tailored to South Carolina. Win/Win situation no matter the outcome. If Ron wins Iowa I think this would get funded easily.

Some do, some don't. Newt Gingrich Serial Hypocrisy only needed newt's name.

I searched Ron Paul in YouTube and went 10 pages deep looking for this video and unfortunately it's not showing up.

Title holds a lot more weight than the description and tags.

I don't disagree. It's more the urgency than anything. We were already picking up Republicans and winning Iowa even with general knowledge of his foreign policy. Relevant was probably the wrong word. It's more about urgency I think. The Compassion ad strikes against the problem that is hurting us more and is more immediate in nature. Sure it's reactionary, but RevPAC can be as reactionary as they want, so the PCC doesn't have to be.

I love both ads, it's just I have identified a lot of undecideds and supporters of other campaigns through my email list and the feedback I got was many of them liked both ads, but most liked the Oath a lot better. By combining them into "other" the remaining cantidates are lent more creedance.

You could, but the turnaround rate getting people from a TV to a website is very low.

Maybe for older folks. But as compelling as this ad is, it might be a way to get people to the internet.

Question: should the pie graph keep all the dropouts, or merge their bits into a section "Other"?

Merge drop outs and list them as "Unelectable"

That is an inspiring video. I may now go purchase a "Veterans for Ron Paul" T-Shirt.

I was tempted to say that they should be removed all together to make Ron's percentage bigger, but by the same token, having more people in there on the chart helps to show how many people Ron beats.

My final verdict, keep em all on there the way it is.

neither. just omit them entirely.

the new graph would show just paul, romney, gingrich, santorum, and perry contributions.

neither. just omit them entirely from the chart.

That messes up the percentages though.

I got 3 clicks on this video from South Carolina Republicans for the facebook ad I created yesterday. See the thread on creating a $50 to 75 facebook ad campaign for free. It will get us votes. Still a lot of credit left to get more clicks on my $50 dollar campaign. http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?348265-ATTN-ANYONE-w-a-FACEBOOK!-Free-25-50-Facebook-Advertising-Credit-FREE-Ron-Paul-ads!

just remove their numbers from the total as well. you'll have a new total and new percentages.

I vote for just keeping all the candidates there. Then it shows that we outraised the dropouts by a wide margin also. More impressive in my book when you dominated all the candidates like that. Groups the flawed foreign policy amongst all of them and highlights Ron Paul as the only real change to the status qua.

How in the world are you gonna be able to cut that to 1 min?

Would it be too costly to make it into two separate videos and alternate airing both?

Keep it the way it is. RicK S and Newt are the smallest and they are RP two closest competitors in SC.

Good point ... it highlights that they couldn't even keep up with the drop outs.
