To show how appreciative we are to Kevin Drum and the good folks over at CBS for the free air time and publicity they so graciously bestowed on our candidate, and to help CBS get in the pre-holiday cheer, I would like to show my solidarity with Max in suggesting that we fruitcake bomb our dear friend Kevin Drum at CBS.

I have $10 to put toward this cause. Anyone else?

good idea... it will be like the chocolate cake scene in the movie 'battle of the bulge"

"If theyve got money to send me fruitcakes// imagine the money they have to support Ron Paul."

Is there a meetup in his area that can purchase and deliver the fruitcakes by any chance?

Instead of giving food to Kevin Drum, I propose really big contribution to the local food bank! Fruitcakes from Ron Paul Revolutionaries!

I remember there was someone who called Ron Paul supporters nothing but "SPAM" and the local meetup group SPAMMED a food bank and it made the news!

Pointless. Send the $10 to Ron Paul instead, or use it on one of the many chip-ins. :)

exactly, but if a delivery truck shows up at the CBS offices w/ a shipment of a couple thousand fruitcakes, they'll have to give them away somehow.

two birds, a million fruitcakes.

I'm not sure if he's an employee of CBS. I think he might be some sort of free-lance writer or blogger or whatever.

Here is one of the many great articles that was written about the SPAM.

well we would not just donate fruitcakes of course - but Christmas Foods , toys etc. This is the time of year when the Food Banks need those donations.

This is how REAL Ron Paul supporters respond to being called "Fruitcakes" - turn a negative into a POSITIVE!

no doubt, that too.

this is about publicity and dealing w/ the media.

now, i agree 100% that the best thing to do for ron paul in our communities is charity work on his behalf... i've been advocating that since day one.

but we have to have a multi-leveled strategy here, included in that are efforts at driving media coverage.

that's alright, i'd say by the view to post ratio on this thread, more than one person's picking up the idea... maybe just not the right crowd right now.

I wouldn't inflict fruitcakes upon our nation's needy population. If we're going to give to food banks, let's give something tasty.

exactly, that's why we have to have the best fruitcakes...

and why we have to keep this separate from other localized food drive efforts, compartmentalization.

LOL! I would go so far as to suggest at every one of our huge rallys and gatherings that are meeting all across the nation - the price of "admission" should be a can of food or an item to be donated to the local food banks - all in the name of the Ron Paul "Fruitcakes" :D

Kevin Drum is with the Washington Monthly.
CBS merely reprinted it from the Washington Monthly.
