Those folks just want to maintain the status quo. They would have everyone vote for more of the same as we have had for so long people are forgetting what things could be like.

Obama ran on change. The problem there was he wanted a change people didn't understand would be worse than what was the status quo. If people really want to break out of the same ol, same ol state of affairs, they will have to vote for someone who will provide for positive change. Ron Paul is the only candidate who would give those who want change, what they are looking for.

They wanted him to compromise at the Republican convention and tone down his "extreme" rhetoric. Which brought on the classic line at the convention of "Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice!".

There's a good video that someone is going to post. It shows the Wright brothers, and a number of other innovators.
The Write brothers are a FANTASTIC example of what is going on here.

Many dont know that the Wright brothers built their own internal combustion engine from scratch. These guys bilt bicycles for pete sakes - they had a huge learning curve on the engine alone.
Although, there were quite a few manufacturers who they could have purchased form, these manufacturers REFUSED to sell anything, at any price, to the Wright brothers. The manufactures did not wish to be associated with the lunacy of self propelled human flight.

The establishment wants a contest of personalities, not of philosophies. They can manage a beauty contest. What they can't survive is a genuine battle of ideas. So, they need to be able to confine the debate to whether you want blue or red drapes in your cell, or whether you prefer vanilla or hazelnut flavoring in you hemlock latte. If the candidates start actually discussing the the issues of natural rights, their net begins to unravel. Ron Paul doesn't fit the script. He takes a jackhammer to the mold, and that's unacceptable to our black-box propaganda-media oligarchy.

THAT is why Ron Paul is the most feared/hated man in contemporary American politics. Anyone who would even consider voting for anyone else is a drooling imbecile, and should be kept away from sharp objects (by caring family members, not the state).
