Grassroots is pushing for her to invite him on the show.

Why should we do this?

The show averages about 2.74 million viewers per episode, according to daytime television ratings, which makes it one of the highest-viewed daytime shows.

Women between the ages of 25 and 54.

1. Ellen's target market is women between the ages of 25 and 54; Paul doesn't poll well with them.
2. Ellen doesn't focus on issues much, she's a comedian. It would allow us to build an image among women.
3. Many folks think Paul comes off as grumpy sometimes, this would be a chance to show Ron's funny/human side.
4. Ellen would be friendly to Paul's anti-collectivist ideas.
5. Nearly 3 million viewers.
6. This would be blogged about by a lot of women.
7. Press
8. We would have more Youtube clips.
9. Paul would have to dance.

How can we make this happen?

This is a great idea. Any late night shows that lean towards a older audience? If we could win them over, Paul could win by a landslide.

Jon Stewart is a liberal too and has done quite a bit to help Ron as well. Though she is a liberal I do like Ellen a lot. She just cares about people, and I think she and Ron could find some common ground, certainly far more than any of the other GOP candidates. I could be mistaken, but I've only really heard her speak out on social issues not economics. I'd love to see him visit right after an Iowa victory, too bad he couldn't have taped something when he was in LA the other day for Leno, not sure if its worth a separate trip out there.

I think too many of you think that because Ellen is a lesbian and a democrat that therefor she runs a left-wing propaganda show.
She is an entrepreneur who runs a show aimed at stay-at-home moms.
She runs contests to give away coffee machines, and brings dudes on her show to propose to their girlfriends.
It's pop culture for middle aged women.
I believe her audience would love Ron Paul.
I do not think we have to worry about pissing off the bigots anymore, I do not think they are coming our way anyhow.

When John McCain went on her show (after he secured the nomination), she asked him about what his views on California's Proposition 8 were, if I remember correctly. It was back when the gay marriage in California debate was REALLY heated.

Proposition 8 was the amendment that banned gay marriage in California.

As long as she doesn't ask Ron Paul about any gay issues, I don't see the harm.

I am really going to start sounding like a negative nancy, a debbie downer, or a party pooper pauline...but you cannot honestly think that she will like RP's stance on gay issues. DADT sure fine. No on the federal marriage amendment to ban gay marriage...sure sure sounds great. But wait no anti discrimination bill for gays!? No support for gay marriage on a federal level!?

No she will not. Take it from the token gay guy here...SHE WILL NOT. What's next...Rachel Maddow? Yah, that will go over like a fart in church.

If Ron Paul comes through without a scratch I'll be very surprised. But I think this is a waste of time.

This is a great idea.

Ellen will support Ron Paul, but not only because of his open minded views. He wants policy decisions to be made at a more local level where people can modify/delete policies in order to better accommodate their lifestyles. This is the type of world political activists, right and left, dream of.

...

She wants the federal government to recognize gay marriage. Look I know we've had a lot of positivity from the rise in Iowa and New Hampshire, but lefties don't all of a sudden like Ron Paul just because he's Ron Paul. Let's please be realistic.

Yes, that's great and all and we all know that, but the point is marriage ISN'T on a equal Federal footing (which will be her gripe). Ellen DOES think the government should care about all marriages and grant benefits to those involved in such unions.

Ellen does not hold any libertarian philosophy towards marriage. I'm sorry, but you're not going to get a positive reaction from her target audience. If you want to push for him to do it, than by all means do.

My letter to Ellen:

"Did you see Ron Paul on Leno! It was awesome and hit the news big-time after he commented that Bachmann/Santorum dislikes gays/muslims! It was a bomb! Bet you could bring a lot of "bombs" out of Dr. Paul.

Some things that could be discussed (America needs to hear this!)

Get the Federal government OUT of the marriage business! gay, and otherwise!

Pardon all non-violent drug offenders (most are black and 1/4 the prison population is Spanish) Prisons are so full, REAL criminals get very light sentences. Make TREATMENT centers for drug offenders instead of sending them to prison.

Dr. Paul has offered the ONLY solution to balancing the budget while MAINTAINING current government assistance. He says these people depend on that and it's unfair to "pull the rug out from under them now."

Dr. Paul is a strong State rights believer and thinks the Federal government should be limited for LIBERTY and prosperity for all.

I'm sure once you talked with the campaign -- lots of light bulbs will go off for your comedic genius! Dr. Paul has a great laugh and people don't get to hear it enough (not sure how well he dances LOL maybe we can learn that too!)"

YOU GUYS BETTER CHECK OUT DR. PAUL'S DANCING AND GET HIM UP TO SPEED!

I love that people are willing to put the time in to write her letters.

We need to keep pushing. :)

Ron dancing would help with the notion that he's too old.

I seem to remember Ellen dancing around with Obama back in 2008.

DONE, here's what I wrote:

Ellen

Heterosexual younger male here. I think your comedy is hilarious. Your graduation speech at Tulane was a riot. Also big fan of your show.

I am suggesting you have Presidential Candidate Dr. Ron Paul on your show. He is a Republican who doesn't hate Muslims and homosexuals! I couldn't believe it either!

BTW, your ratings for that segment would SOAR!

Great commencement speech from Ellen at Tulane:

Obama administration has announced $60 million in additional funding to fight HIV/AIDS transmission in sub-Saharan Africa and has appointed comedian and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres as special envoy to raise global awareness about the disease and generate funding to address the problem. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton expects the actress to "bring her sharp wit and big heart" to support U.S. efforts.

Ellen DeGenerate is a big supporter of Obama, despite Pres. B O flip flopping compromising positions on gays rights. With his confused bi-sexuality reasoning or in his trans-gender views to human rights as he is being latent to his non-commitment....its because his an AC/DC (actual committed while denying commitment)....

Just saying..... need to be cautious (you better see what she is going to do in the show or what kind of audience is in the show or ????)
