yes, Dems are socialists but most of the GOP are fascists.

On the party level, they are generally socialistic, but there is a sizeable portion of rank and file Democrats who are there because they are still duped into believing that the Dems are for civil liberties and that the GOP wants to take away individual liberties. I guess those would be the Democratic-leaning Independents who Ron Paul is attracting right now as more and more former Obama supporters wake up.

Philip M. Crane, 1964

Professor Crane's excellent, well-documented history details the steps taken by the Fabian socialists in bringing about a statist U.S.A. Although published in the mid sixties, this book helps the reader understand why and how today's far-left "progressives" have achieved the Obama/Pelosi reign of 2009.

well i am a dem and have never bought that line. do repubs buy the fascist line? i doubt it. the truth is somewhat less severe

i think both parties embrace certain ideas that can be construed as...borrowed from other doctrine. but you also hear all the time "but not go too far" or "its a good idea and we do it differently," etc

socialism is a political system, but just as much an economic one. if it works and the people agree to it, they are as free as anyone else. they really just spend their money differently. for some people freedom is less taxes so they can buy a big tv and support a fake economy like ours. for others its having the freedom of choosing some "free" healthcare everyone has paid for. its all the same imo. pick your poison. and at the end of the day w/e you call it it has to work, period

the dems are not socialists anymore then the repubs are Nazi's its just political deception and fear mongering. don't take sides with either, don't drink the kool-aid

Ron Paul for freedom, 2012 :)

Uh, Nazi is short for National Socialist. Fascism and Socialism are both on the same end of the political spectrum.

idc what Nazi is short for. it sounds nicer, but they act like fascist. quite frankly its such a silly party a description escapes them. i just like the term dumbasses

i understand they are on the same end of the political spectrum, and neither is desirable. however, distinctions do apply to each

No they're not. Some likely are, but I guess you could say that Democrats are centrists much like the GOP are. Liberal (international definition) on some issue, socialist on others. A lot like the GOP. They use socialist lingo to get their point across and to create the illusion that they're different from the GOP (who likewise, are using free market lingo to get their point across), but no, they're not a socialist party.

The two-party system is as much of an enemy to socialists as it is to libertarians.

National Socialism wasn't socialism, Hitler just added the word 'socialism' to get support from laborers. The 'right wing/left wing' paradigm isn't just bullcrap in America, but it is everywhere. How on earth someone like, let's say, Hitler is supposed to be closer to Ayn Rand than to Stalin... I really don't know. Even Hitler's economic policies were similar to Stalin's.

Really, there's no left/right. Only collectivism/individualism.

Collectivists yes . Steal a dollar from you , twenty cents goes to who they choose , eighty cents goes to the govt building and govt employee to give out the stolen money.

If I get to keep my dollars and give one to where I choose , I can find places to do so where they get the whole dollar , like the local , volunteer food bank .
