The meme promoted by the Fox News debate hosts on Thursday that Ron Paul is to the "left of Obama" on foreign policy needs to be rebutted and turned around on them.

Let's call the "we need to intervene militarily wherever we can, transform the world into democracy, and spend liberally on aid to other nations" foreign policy for what it really is...
A SOCIALIST foreign policy.
Ron Paul is the only candidate with a CONSERVATIVE non-interventionist foreign policy.

^^ I would love to see the OFFICIAL campaign have the guts to make an attack/contrast ad along these lines, even if it was just an internet ad.

Tried and it seems that automatically deletes the picture so I had to re-post it.

Honestly? Paul's policies do sort of intersect with some Communist policies of, for example, the Soviet Union towards their collapse under Gorbachev. I just finished up a course on Russian History; it's fairly evident. That doesn't mean, however, that they're necessarily "Socialist." I think we need to stop labeling entire groups as either Socialist or not Socialist -- it makes no sense. We should be asking, do these policies work? And Perestroika, under Gorbachev, were good -- or rather, would have been good in the Soviet Union if it were more culturally unified. So yeah, there's definitely similarities. But that doesn't make them "Socialist." Socialism is defined as an economic system characterized by social ownership of the means of production and cooperative management of the economy. Such a foreign policy in no way relates to that definition. May some Communists like some of Paul's ideas towards foreign policy? Yes. My Intro to Russia teacher -- as much as I like him as an intellectually stimulating and thought provoking professor, is a devout Communist, and has told me that he basically loves Paul's foreign policy stance, and thinks he's the only guy in the race who has a clue what he's talking about when it comes to it. But that doesn't make the policy itself somehow "Socialist."

Just my two cents as a college student majoring in history and secondary education.

Leftists...Woodrow Wilson who promoted a progressive big government foreign policy, Wilsonian (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wilsonian) if you will. He set the stage for WWII and pretty much every war that followed by getting us involved in WWI and the resulting Treaty of Versailles. The three knuckleheads below him are Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, and Bill Kristol (all claim to be "conservatives" but are really just neocons/modern-day progressives and lovers of their brand of big government).

The right, it's Robert Taft...down below it's Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, and Russell Kirk.

In a war weary broke country, why exactly is being called to the left of the war mongers (including Obama) so bad? Every voter already knows Ron's foreign policy already and he is doing just fine.
