Hi there, I'm a Swedish citizen and it feels so great to have joined this forum. I've been following Ron Paul for quite some time, and even though I can't do so much practical, so am I promoting his ideas in Sweden so much as I can. If you guys think that USA is in a serious state of socialism, then have a look at Sweden. Anyway, I truly hope that Ron Pauls ideas might get spread worldwhile if he get's elected president. I mean, when he gets elected president :D

Welcome!

An old girlfriend of mine from Thailand, and as strange as that sounds she was/is an normal girl I met in the USA while she was an exchange student, nothing to do with other types of girls Thailand is known for, had the good sense to marry a Swedish man. Not only has she now moved to Sweden and had a couple children with him she has learned Swedish and put herself through enough training there to be able to work in her medical specialty she had trained for in the USA when I knew her; she's a brilliant, beautiful woman.

Someday I hope to travel there and visit with them, but it will have to be in Summer because I am unable to tolerate cold weather very well. I wonder how a girl from Thailand manages!

Welcome!

To riff on one of my favorite ZZ Top songs: "Ron Paul is bad, he's world-wide!"

"I love Sweden. But I hate the state that is governing it." <- +rep. That is the signature of a true patriot - no matter what country you are from!

Världen är liten! (Small world)
Would it be constitutional to have Sweden join in as the 51th state, if Ron Paul wins?

Our climate zone isn't that bad. It's like in Minnesota, where most the 1/4 of the Swedish population settled when they emigrated during the 19th century. (Because they knew how to grow potatoes in that climate zone). 2008 Ron Paul got 17% in Minnesota, 21% in North Dakota and 25% in Montana! All libertarian Swedish genes went there, only the slave-wannabes are left behind here in Scandinavia...

not sure on statehood procedure, but i'm sure the people of that state would have to vote to join the union, then the congress would have to vote to accept.

I think there are a few Swedes here. All followers of the libertarian party (liberala partiet) I suppose?

I have been following this forum since 2007, but i dont post much, just read. I dont want to be an interventionist in other peoples countries. I mean, what would Ron say about that?!?! ;-)

While you can't legally donate to the campaign, you can donate to this grassroots project! http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?338013-Iowa-quot-Oath-quot-Ad-Campaign-Chip-In!

As someone with great affection for Swedish people and culture (which I'm sure I know nothing about, having never been there - but still, I have an image of it), welcome! I'm always excited to see visitors from far away interested in us. I hope I will get the chance to visit Sweden someday soon.
