Well we see that we have connections to cheap advertising via billboards..

http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=33867

and we see already a great billboard idea..

http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=33859

so now we need to work on this idea, contact meetup groups, create a chipin and ultimately make this thread a sticky or subforum for a billboard campaign.

What is great about this is that 2008 is the first election we can realistically use Digital billboards. They are quick to implement. No need to buy a 6 month billboard when the election is 2 months away. And they can be done in small increments to target specific days using the "Multiple mediums in 72 hours rule".

Also Nate I would like to note that right now I am only looking at getting something up Dec. 14th -19th. Anything longer than that I would really need to funnel through our state coordinator, and I know he would not do any billboards until January (super tuesday here).

Thank you very much for sticking this. The 14th-19th sounds great to me, i'll be researching everything surrounding this method asap.

If anyone believes in the Billboard idea please join us on our website RonPaulBillboards.com.
We are focused on displaying Ron Paul Billboards in the early primaries such as Iowa and NH.
Our website was launched a week ago and we are half way through our goal of a digital billboard in Iowa. We have received donations as far as Ireland, South Korea and the UK. Our supporters are daily and with your help we can keep pushing through the primary season.

We've already been through this with the Billboard Companies. They cannot give a discount to a Political push because they'll have to give the discount to Everyone.

Besides that they require the money up front unless you have big money connections.

We've already funded our local Billboard Campaign with our own money but we're locating "OLD" Billboards that have been out of use for awhile and are asking the land owners if it's ok to place a sign on their 'UNUSED' Billboard and we're getting great responses of the OK as long as we foot the bill for the creation and installation of the Billboard.

Get to work! We're running out of time!

Well actually the company I am working with for our Digital Billboard in Iowa cut us a great deal. They are also quoting me additional billboards at a discounted rate. I'm currently looking for more supporters of this method to join us and donate to help maximize our efforts.

The billboard company can give any price they want to anyone...

The reason political ads are costing more is because no one wants to be seen as supporting someone with prices... like this:

they give us a cheap bilboard but Romney gets then for double the price... word gets out and Romney's camp gets mad.

That's what happened with the NYT and moveon.org and Rudy.

$40/day is an AMAZING price. About three weeks ago I ran over some numbers with a billboard company client... unrelated to me or Ron Paul... just for fun. The numbers I saw them bringing in in revenue from their signs were about 3 times this price.

I'm excited to announce that with generous donations and support we have reached our fund raising goal for Iowa in a little over a week. I'm currently working with the graphics team finalizing the designs, sketches and wording of the billboard. Concurrently I'm searching for locations in New Hampshire that will reach the most voting demographic. We will update the website when I have final designs and pictures of the billboard. Visit our website to stay informed.

Does anyone have the link to the billboard sign that had Ron Paul's picture and a yellow triangular section on it. There were about 3 issues highlighted on it but they were just short statements. I thought the billboard was somewhere in TX.
