As a Canadian I can attest.

70% of our health industries are privatized and up for commercial competition - things like dental, chiropractic, vets etc. I.e, the important things but no the UBER important things. You can get these things IMMEDIATELY and with great efficiency.

The other 30% are the uber important things and they are controlled for the government (particularly here in Ontario). These things are costly and waiting times are obnoxious. Particularly to see a doctor who is a specialist.

My mom was diagnosed with Crohn's and Collitis. It took the health care system and it's doctors SIX GOD DAMN YEARS to diagnose relatively simple diseases BECAUSE SHE HAD TO WAIT 6 MONTHS BETWEEN VISITS.

I had reconstructive surgery on my shoulder. The whole process took a year from MRI #1 to surgery date - it was pathetic.

Now, in Canada we do NOT have National Health care. It's absolutely nothing like Obama Care. Health care is a PROVINCIAL issue.
