Just curious.

I had the good fortune to be down in Lake Jackson (at a shrimp processing facility) watching Ron Paul give a great speech to several hundred other supporters. It was a cool, sunny day down here in Texas and the whiff of shrimp just made it that much more real. At some point in the afternoon, folks starting talking about the amazing amount of money that was being donated. I remember at the end of the speech, Paul walked outside to a docked shrimp boat and threw a bunch of blue barrels with labels such as IRS into the water. Everyone cheered, had a good laugh, and then headed home to donate more money to the cause.

In front of my computer, drinking (root) beer after every $1 million raised. Probably slept for about 5 minutes. One of the best Ron Paul day of my life. I anticipate even better ones ahead.

This was the day I found out about Ron Paul. The money bomb promotion is what brought me in.

I was checking my pager at work for moneybomb updates. I think we passed Nov. 5th around 4 PM. I was escatic and rushed home to check out the media coverage, which wasn't nearly as extensive as it was for the November 5th moneybomb.

Can someone give us stats for 12-16-2007 so we can figure out what the pace is for this one after the first hour?

I was on a road trip to meet some relatives for a pre-christmas get together since we couldn't see each other on christmas. We each drove half way to a Cracker Barrel in Augusta, GA. A few minutes after we sat down to eat I got a phone call from my friend who abruptly said, "Hey man, I've got someone here who wants to talk to you" at which point he handed the phone over to Dr. Paul. I stuttered like a fool and somehow got out something to the effect of "I really appreciate what you're doing and support you a hundred percent". He was kind of course. I probably had the goofiest smile on my face, but that was awesome. Of course, I spent the rest of the day (before and after our family meal) following Ron Paul Graphs and freaking out that we raised so much. What a great day.

TL: DR - I talked to THE Dr. Ron Paul on the phone in a Cracker Barrel on the day that his supporters started the modern Tea Party movement.

In my Pittsburgh attic stalking the ticker (reloading like every 5 minutes, lol), donating, helping to plan the RP blimp itinerary and calling around to make sure that the media and local supporters found the blimp crew in the Columbia, South Carolina bar where they set up shop during the money bomb. It was a busy day!

Freaking out as the money raced in. It was also the second money bomb I'd ever donated to after November 5th. At the time, I wasn't in the best economic situation, but I gave anyway. Who could pass up being part of that epic day?

Tomorrow, I'll rejoin history, but I'm in a better position now. I'll be giving RP at least ten times what I was able to give for the moneybomb in 2007. I know the bleak economy has hurt the donating potential of many people. But I hope there are others like me out there who can help pick up the slack.

I will my friend I will. I have maybe 600 bucks left in my Ron Paul donation chest and was saving it for this bomb. Let's just say since 2007 I have made good money on Gold and Silver over the years.

Plus I scalp and swing trade in the stock market (I am a evil wallstreeter I guess LOL)

How cool is it to be back and be able to donate to Dr Paul again! I remember that day with pride, watching the cash ticker and all the(great) graphs. Also trying to get the Blimp up and then because of the bad weather in the north(?) and it came Florida and I go to see it, WOW!!
