I understand C4L isn't making a showing this year... what's the deal with that? (Guess I should check with my state leadership, huh?! :o )

Regardless, I plan on printing out a bunch of fliers, grabbing the wife and heading down there to vote in the straw poll!

I think this is an important year at CPAC (and it baffles me that C4L isn't going), and it would be HUGE to pull down a victory for the good doctor. Who's heading to the conference this year!? I'm really pumped up for it - I love hitting the ground amongst all those so-called conservatives and spreading the good word! :D

Are we sure CFL isn't buying tickets?

I'll be there.

YAL isn't selling tickets either.

The nomination will be decided by the time CPAC happens. I would've hoped we would keep our influence on the party no matter what the outcome though.

I haven't heard either way... and usually by now you do. I did hear second-hand talk that they're not.

Are they having a booth this year at least?

LPAC is their replacement convention. Given how hostile CPAC was last year (I was there and saw it first-hand), I don't blame CFL or YAL if they don't promote it this year.

Bump. Seems like a win at cpac would help us consolidate the conservative antiromney vote. Anyone else thinking about going?

Planning to go down for one day. Does anyone know if you can vote in the straw poll on Thursday?

From what I understand hard core neocons took it over not long after Ron won it last year.

I am going to CPAC, and this thread needs some help.

1. No, the nomination will not be decided by CPAC. I'm not sure why you'd think that and, if you were holding on to such a conclusion, why you wouldn't factcheck yourself. CPAC is Feb 9-11. Not even 10% of delegates are assigned by then.

Contests before CPAC (including caucus states):
Iowa (28 delegates)
New Hampshire (12 delegates)
South Carolina (25 delegates)
Maine (24 delegates)
Florida (50 delegates)
Nevada (28 delegates)
Colorado (36 delegates)
Minnesota (40 delegates)
----------------------------------
That's 243 delegates, including the caucus delegates which will not necessarily be set in stone yet

How you can say the contest will be over is beyond me.

2. A one-day ticket is not available for Thursday. www.cpac.org You can only buy a one-day ticket for Saturday, and I will be calling them to see what the deal is with the voting... disguised as a Sarah Palin fan, of course.

I was going to do the student option for $35.00.

That works :) Just making sure no one thinks there's a Thursday-only pass.
