Right now Baer, Wallace, and Cavuto are talking about the debate. Wallace stood by his comments about how if Ron Paul wins Iowa, it will make it irrelevant. Cavuto jumped in and said you cannot write a candidate off, and mentioned Carter. Go Cavuto!

Yep, Cavuto just defended Paul/disagreed with Wallace about the "discrediting Iowa if RP wins". He said you can't automatically assume that the winner of Iowa can't win the primary, and brought up Jimmy Carter as an example.

Thank you Neil.

Chris Wallace just said RP win discredits Iowa Caucus - Neil Cavuto calls him rude...

Neil is correct. Besides, think of the credibility of the Ames straw poll. It is the biggest IA GOP fundraiser (and the same for Dems when they have a primary, look at Obama winning it.) First or second place, at least on the GOP side 'always' wins the IA caucus -- so far. Now, Romney and Newt didn't even attend..... but Ron came in a hairspan behind the first place winner.

maybe the one who decided to put the caucuses during winter break for the colleges in the state. I'm thinking of the guy who wouldn't even read second place etc for the Ames straw poll but just said 'the winner is Michele Bachmann' then walked off stage leaving the pundits to turn backwards from their cameras to try to read off the projected vote totals for the others, with Ron 152 vote or so behind Bachmann and WAAAAAAAAAY ahead of anyone else.

I wish in this interview that Paul didn't give the impression that other could beat Obama. Instead he alone, because of his foreign policy/civil liberties stance, is the only one that can capture the large voter block that is so disappointed in Obama's failure to defend the Constitution...stressing how every other Republican is the same on Obama on this issue and will not attract those voters.

It is interviews like this that make me think Dr. Paul has been playing the rope-a-dope against the establishment for years....

+1 Rep (had I not blown all my rep in the Ayn Rand thread yesterday).

Looking at Ron Paul's career, it seems he has a very good grasp at what his political reach is. In 1984, instead of seeking House re-election, he lost his Senate primary bid to Phil Gramm who had switched from the Democrat to Republican parties. Obviously, he did not turn tail and run (the '88 Presidential run). And he came back to the fight for the "Conservative" (in name only except for Ron) Revolution of the 1990s. He clearly saw an opportunity in 2008 and 2012 that was lacking in 2000, 2004 (obviously). To me, he is like one of those Raptors in Jurassic Park that is seeking out his enemies weakness. Clearly not content to be a politician on the take, Ron Paul continues to fight the establishment and he is winning the issues - if those aren't already won. He has been mistakenly called a 'perennial candidate' (like Trump or maybe Jesse Jackson). That isn't true, Ron Paul comes back with a different attack every time. It may be the third run but he clearly is not wasting anybody's time or bullshitting.
