She uttered the words:

I would prefer Ron Paul as president to Newt Gingrich

Yes, it was a serious comment. Even better, Fox accidently played that segment twice! :D

Yea..and Greg Gutfeld " we should all take him more seriously" "40 years consistently for small governement"and a lot more.

The guy that does the half time critique or whatever:
" ..actually internal polls of perry and bachmann are telling them that gingrich is crashing while Paul is holding very strong".

Ann Coulter said a lot more than that:
"I am delighted to see Ron Paul winning in Iowa beating Gingrich ...he is wonderful in internal affairs, just forget his foreigns..STILL someone who does nothing in foreign affairs like Ron Paul would be better than someone who does bad things in foreign policies like Obama..." etc.

Shame she doesn't say that on Hannity and he doesn't say that on The Five. I guess the establishment doesn't have a night watchman.

Haha. I'm fascinated too, how quick commentators can adapt. Coulter especially will do anything to keep and expand her base. If Paul trashing won't do it anymore...

Gutfeld and Andy Levy (Halftime Report guy) are both self-described "libertarians", so this is not so shocking to me. Ann Coulter's comment, however, is most shocking.

Jesus, do these people have any REAL opinions or do they just say whatever feels right in the moment? One minute bashing Ron as the worst choice, the next saying he'd be better than Gingrich?

Amazing.

Greg Gutfeld just said that on the five yesterday, actually more:
" Gingrich is not the Tea party man, that should be Ron Paul ,40 years for small government ..."

Actually even now,on Bret Baier's special report, after red eye,a long talk about how the wonderful Ron Paul's fans are, making new followers and friends even with things like Ron Paul's wife cookbook everywhere in Iowa and what a great dedicated organization he has and if organization and grass roots still count for something he will definitely be the winner..

Ann Coulter regularly makes positive comments about Paul, at least on domestic issues.

Someone at CPAC in 2010 tried to bait her into making negative comments about Paul and libertarians and instead she was pretty supportive: "If Ron Paul is behind it, and it has nothing to do with foreign policy, I agree." Her list of agreements with libertarians included eliminating the CIA, ending the Federal Reserve, and scrapping various departments including Agriculture, Education, Commerce, the EPA, and most of the IRS. Her only real domestic disagreement is that she wants to eliminate the welfare state before legalizing drugs.

And on Red Eye in 2009 she picked Ron Paul for President in 2012 because she figured the war would be over and she agrees with him on everything else.

Shame she doesn't say that on Hannity and he doesn't say that on The Five. I guess the establishment doesn't have a night watchman. She's in Romney's camp, now. They all figure the best way to defeat Gingrich is to make sure Ron Paul does well in Iowa. I'll take the help, but let's not believe that it's real.

Remember, that the establishment is not homogeneous. There are many competing factions, especially when it comes to personalities, but in the end the same goal will be accomplished. Just because these folks are bashing Newt, doesn't mean their going against the establishment. Likewise, just because some in the establishment are bashing Newt, doesn't make him anti-establishment.

She argued with Hannity pretty strongly about Gingrich. She hates him. And rightly so. Newty isn't a constitutional conservative.

Talking heads have to appear in the media in order to sell books and make a living. They are puppets to the game and will pander to the audience just as most politicians do. No one should take anything they say on air seriously.

I predicted this shift would come from the talking heads when Ron started doing well. They want to be on the winning team. I was laughed at and everyone said never. More and more are coming around.

In other words, she is a neocon who 100% supports the war on drugs. She might as well say, "yeah, after Jesus comes back and walks on water, then I want drugs legalized".

I think Coulter is a Ron Paul fan underneath the neocon cloak. she knows there's more money in preaching neoconservatism.

Dunno, she used to bang Bill Maher, she has to approve of drugs and use them privately.

She'd never say that in Prime Time. In prime time she calls Ron Paul a kook and says his foreign policy is a complete disqualifier.

This middle-of-the-night praise is an appeasement of RP supporters who she knows will see it on the web.

She will and all the talking heads will soon. That is going to be the meme for them to support Ron as he rises to national frontrunner. "Doing nothing is better than what Obama does".
