It doesn't matter anyways, White house will not veto it.

It says here that Ron Paul didn't vote on this measure. Was it because he was in Iowa?

The link you provided appears to be reporting on a vote held in May of this year.

Maybe that's the date the bill was submitted?

GovTrack has Paul voting no. Not sure why the blog differs.

I checked it on OpenCongress as well. It appears he did vote NO. How the hell does he do it? I thought I saw him in New Hampshire? Even with all the work and stress of running a campaign; he still honors his responsibility as a Congressman. :)

I think that vote was from Mayish...this bill HR 1540 has been going through the house for half a year...here is the final vote taken last week on the finalized bill.

http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2011/roll893.xml

406 yeas [235 Republicans, 171 Democrats]
17 nays [2 Republicans, 15 Democrats]
1 present [1 Republican]
9 Not Voting [3 Republicans, 6 Democrats]

Ron Paul did vote Nay. Bachmann voted as well, but she voted Yea.

I cannot pretend to be surprised by this. The Hawks will always push for perpetual war and the centralizing of government.

Here are the final results for the Dec. 14 vote, where it clearly shows that Dr. Paul did not vote: http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2011/roll932.xml
I'm sure he would have flown back from the campaign trail to vote against this bill if it was going to be a close vote. He has spoken out forcefully against the bill, so there is no doubt about where he stood on it.

No that was after conference...with the passage in the Senate. Ron wasn't there for that, but the one passed on the 7th was the last house version before the senates, so technically this is the final vote by the house, but the one before that I posted was pretty much the bill the house produced. Like Obamacare, it had to go through conference after each house initially passed it, to finalize the differences between the houses. Paul did come off the campaign trail last week.

Did the one that passed the House earlier have the same terrible language, or was it added in the Senate version?

Cause Bachmann voted for earlier versions, I thought..
