This week has been very good for donations - probably more like 65k a day. My wife and I will be donating $500 between us tomorrow early in the morning. The more donations we have early in the day, the more it encourages others to donate. The OP is completely correct in this regard. Back in 2007 we would raise 200k an hour for the first couple hours. It really got the day's momentum rolling.
